I'm embarrassed. I feel dumb today because I'm sick. :-(
Apparently the terminal that I was working on didn't have the proper
LD_LIBRARY_PATH setup correctly.
Sorry guys...
On a side note, it's all happy again, I can install and reinstall LDAP.
