Hi, since most of you have a 3D printer, could you please help us gather the USB Vendor and Product IDs?
Those can be found by lsusb.
For more information, please see [1].
Thank you for your help.

The Rostock also uses a rambo (via ttyACM*), but the rambo is already listed via another printer... perhaps a list of common 3d *controllers* would make sense, followed by exceptions?
Plus, generic IDs like FT232 and Arduino might be used for things other than 3D printers, but there's no way to know what's on the other side of the hardware. Opening these up to users "in general" would be a security policy change - you'd want it for single-user desktops but not for servers. Maybe a meta-package that has the security policy that all the other printer driver packages (like pronterface) depend on? So by installing (for example) pronterface, you get access to /dev/ttyACM0 as well.
Also, the $subject seems to be lacking spaces:

I put them back in to see if they get removed again...

That was what I tried to achieve with 3dprinter-udev-rules package.

Also, you are subscribed as djdelorie@fedoraproject.org, not as dj@redhat.com, so you cannot post directly to the list.
