Freemedia Venezuela
by "Guillermo Gómez S."
Hi all
Just to inform that Fedora Venezuela has started a local freemedia
program (limited to venezuela).
We have committed an initial quote of 100 DVDs for December.
We are about to launch an official announcement as soon we get the web
interface for it.
Meanwhile, we have scheduled to use 50 DVS + the Fedora Venezuela banner
for the ExpoTecnologica 2006 (event) in Maracaibo.
Unfortunately i cant attend to the event but there will people committed
from the fedora community to attend the visitors in the booth.

Re: [Ambassadors] Issue about the Realtek 8168/8111 PCI-E
by Moshe Roffe
hi Bart,
try typing
$su -
the minus after the command su gives the environment and the PATH of root, (
a.k.a /usr/sbin, /sbin..).
after that, as a full root you can run #depmod -a
i am happy that you are successful!
tell me if everything went fine.
Moshe.

Issue about the Realtek 8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernetcard
by Bart De Soete
Hi,
Since a few days all my pc's are running now on FC 6.
However, my most recent laptop (an Acer Aspire 9412) contains a Realtek
8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernetcard.
This networkcard was not supported in FC 5 and still isn't in FC 6!
I did some research on the web and contacted a few people who are having the
same problem.
Realtek's website provides user with a so called: "linux-driver" in
tgz-format, but every user that I contacted received the same errors I
received when compiling the driver.
On an Italian website, I found an rpm of it, called:
dkms-r1000-1.04-1.src.rpm.
However, when trying to install the rpm-package I get the error: "cannot
installe source packages". (???)
Can someone give me advice or something?
It's a little bit frustrating, 'cause I was planning my next presentation
about Fedora on this laptop. And ofcourse: a laptop with FC 6 with no
internetconnection is not done.
Kind regards,

Templates for info-presentations about Fedora
by Bart De Soete
Hi everybody,
I'm planning to give a presentation for a college that's wondering if they
would migrate 50% of their PC's to Linux.
Are there up to date templates available for giving info-presentations about
Fedora?
Kind regards,
