Today I found an odd situation, I was on a "potential" client talking about Fedora features and he asked me to show him. 3 things passed in my mind: - I could bring a notebook there (too much time) - I could get a local computer and install Fedora (too much time) - I could boot Kadischi in any machine and show him Here my problem start. In his company I only found MS PCs, there wasn't any CVS program to download Kadischi. I almost cried. :P Why not distribute Kadischi through http in any webpage or torrent files? Hello, my name is Thomas Canniot, i'm 23 and I leave in the North fo france. I'm one of the administrator of the French Fedora Community website (www.fedora-france.org) I'm also translating the wiki into French. I'm using fedora at home as a simple user. I'm also member of a French LUG (www.campux.org) and i have a presentation of Fedora and the Fedora Project planned on the 11th of April. I will certainly ask for some DVDs, in case there are not enough in the standard kit. Thomas Canniot

Hey people, I had some time to think during my vacation, and here's the idea I got: Have Fedora enthusiasts around the world produce short videos in media formats that Fedora supports (including Flash, maybe) and submit them to a panel of judges and we will post the best ones on fedora.redhat.com and on wiki, and give the winner a set of schwag (a t-shirt or two, and whatever new schwag we will have). If you feel like it is worth pursuing, I will go ahead and draft copy for the contest and we can call the contest to go with the new release, or to go with FUDCon in Boston, or something else. Hi All, Yesterday when I went with new fedora T-shirt to my home, my three yrs old son started crying that he also need a T-shirt like this. He wept for at least half an hour and only stopped when I told that I will make this T-shirt of his size. He told me that all the good things I am only buying for myself. After this episode I thought it won't be bad if we promote our Fedora in the Nursery-Playgroup kids community. We can contact schools and there we can say also Tux is the real friend of kids. Tux loves kids! Fedora kids community! This way we can make impression on several new groups. This is just an idea erupting after my son started crying and his poor father was unable to do anything for him :-). Regards, Rajesh Ranjan

We should also figure out our policy for licensing these presentations! tchung thought Rahul was working on *Official* or *Standard* slides for us We'll need contributors to complete the CLA (as all Ambassadors should), and will probably be licensing them using the OPL without stipulations. 8 Standard Ambassadors kit this is either already done or Greg is still working it :) The content of the kits is just about finalized, but production and distribution will still take time. Greg will be back to give us update on Standard Ambassadors kit in the next meeting At present, it looks unlikely that shirts will be part of the standard kit, but will be available for < $10 USD to Ambassadors. Hi All, * SCALE: Fedora Booth at Southern California Linux Expo The 4th Annual Southern California Linux Expo (http://socallinuxexpo.org) also known as SCALE 4X was a successful event for Linux Community. According to SCALE-announce mailing list, Over 700 people came in the first day alone, and as a result the Expo floor was busy and all four speaker tracks were well attended. Thomas Chung, Eric Hattemer and Warren Togami were present at the Fedora Booth for two days (Feb 11-12) to answer any question on Fedora Project as well as distributing Fedora Project Overview Handouts, Fedora Core 4 DVDs and Fedora Project T-Shirts. * SCALE: Fedora Presentation at Southern California Linux Expo Warren Togami also gave a talk on what Fedora is about, why it is important to the future of Open Source Software, and how you can get involved. The presentation slides are available in Fedora Presentations page. Here is a behind-the-story. It was only a few days before the event opening day, when I noticed one of speakers canceled the talk so I contacted SCALE to find out if we can use the spot for Fedora Project. Within minutes, SCALE responded and Warren accepted the invitation. Since it was added in the last minute, his talk information was not included in the printed schedule but the online schedule was updated in time and his talk was announced well before his presentation. Also it was mentioned numerous time in the Fedora Booth by the Fedora Representatives. Hi all, today I've had a very small spare time because waiting for an download of approx. 2 GB :-) and so I decided to have a look on the "other Open-Source Project" called OpenSuSE ... Please have also yourself a look at http://en.opensuse.org/Events where these people will attend. I don't know their programm but I think it's never too bad to have a look, on which events the oponent will participate. Just my five cent gerold
