Claus Reheis
by Claus Reheis
Hi all!
At first I want to say I am sorry for introducing myself so late at this
list. But English is not my native language and sometimes I feel a
little bit shy to use it. But as far as I can say you are all very nice
people and till now I feel well here!(special thanks to GeroldKa,
ChitleshGorah, Thomas Chung and Max Spevack)
My name is Claus Reheis, I am 26 years old and at the moment I live in
western part of Austria / European Union close to the boundary to
Switzerland.
I use Linux since 2003 and I would say I am a advanced beginner in this
material, and I am very motivated to learn as much as I can and i enjoy
every little progress on my way to understand this System...
My profession is "medical masseur, Wellness-Trainer and Therapist" and I
am responsible for a Wellness-Department in a nice Hotel in the Alps.
I am good in communication and its easy for me to make first contact
with people... (The Linux Day Tirol went very well)
My plan is to change my profession to the IT sector and I already study
every day in my spare time to get ready for my Red Hat certifications!
Thanks to my boss, who support me in any way in that matter, I hope I
can do it in a period of 4 years...
The truth is I feel a little bit at the wrong place in a association
with so many geeks like you, but I will give my best to contribute to
the Fedora-Community according to my possibilities and I am sure one day
I can also contribute in technical ways.
So if you think there is something I can do, just let me know!
I am looking forward for my tasks... :)
Greetings from Austria,
Claus Reheis

Information returns
by Frederic Hornain
Dear *,
Already, for several month I have noticed an increase of ubuntu in private
utilisation and also as a linux discovery tool in professional word.
That is just a fact.
I would only make remark you that ubuntu community is doing a great job.
Congratulation to them.
And I belveive that is mostly due to their LiveCD.
It is easy to install, easy to give, easy to explain how to use it.
So, all that to say that I am convinced that we need LiveCD.
Fortunatly, we have got kadishi ! :).
However, I was wondering if as Ambassador I can give Fedora Home made LiveCD
with specific county configuration to people, organizations and companies ?
Thanks in advance for you replies.
Best Regards
Fred

Aim adress
by Francesco Ugolini
First of all sorry for my absence at the meeting but, damn, i've forgot
this.
But the topic of my mail is a proposal. In fact i think that is easier
to talk with an ambassador if he (or she) has an instant messaging
adress to use only for fedora realtive question.
What do you think ?
Francesco Ugolini
P.S.
My aim adress is Wmirror.

Free and Sponsored Media works - infact it's working better all the
time. We're able to fill more and more requests every month. We're
bringing on on more Vendors willing to offer their services to help keep
fulfilment up.
If that's not successful, I'm not sure what is.
The great thing about Open Source is the way people share ideas across
multiple communities. But with all the distros I work with the only
thing that I ever hear about Ubuntu is that they've got lots of users
and that they are well funded.
I never hear about ground breaking packages that will vault OSS, as a
whole, forward.
That sort of stuff is coming out of Fedora.
So let's not worry about keeping up with the neighbors and focus on what
we're doing well.

LiveCD & Media Distribution
by Santosh Kumar
Hi fellow ambassadors,
LiveCD is a wonderful idea... a LiveCD is the only thing in Ubuntu
that impressed me apart from their Media Distribution.....
What do you guys think about a company sponsoring the complete Media
Requests for fedora like Canonical does for Ubuntu?? wouldnt it be a
good move?? It is not always quite effective when we just ship out
around 150-200 Media a month when our competitors ship more than a
1000.... and i am sceptical about the effectiveness of the ambassadors
distributing the Free Media in Fedora, as this manpower could be used
in a better way..... and not everyone would like to shell out to
distribute the FreeMedia DVD's, so this always falls on to a single
person to take up the costs of the Media....
Dont you think we need to rethink our strategy??

Ambassadors Meeting 2006-09-07
by Alex
Due to lack of attendance, the meeting was held informally with the
two Ambassadors who attended.
Events and initiatives of the attending Ambassadors were discussed.
There will be no transcript/summary published.
I would like to encourage the Ambassadors to attend the meetings periodically.
Thank you,

Ambassador t-shirts
by Thomas Canniot
As we are planning Install Parties (at least 2) in France during
October, we are looking for having Ambassador Tshirt, so as to be highly
visible and accessible by people.
This may look like this, made on spreadshirt.net (see joined files).
Do we need any Famsco approvement for them ?
Could they be reimbursed or not (there will be only one tshirt by french
ambassador)? (I don't think they would).
Thanks
