We had 35 events in Q1 this year.
14 in North America
14 in EMEA
5 in South America
2 in APAC
We currently have 19 events scheduled for Q2.
Great work, everyone! Ambassadors is having an incredible year. Let's
keep it up. In particular, I want to see more event organization in
APAC and India, and I am happy to invest additional funding in that
direction.

Thank you LinuxTag organization team!
by Jeroen van Meeuwen
Hi there,
I'd like to take a moment to express my thank you to the LinuxTag
organization team. So;
Thank you!
Personally, I think the biggest highlights of the event where:
- The organization
It was great; no trouble checking in to the hotel, exhibitor passes were
ready for us, no trouble in whatever area you learn to appreciate
someone taking care of things for you, only when it's too late. The
booth just looked great, we had plenty of stuff to show off, some of
those awesome posters (thank you Joerg! -let me get back in touch with
you on how I could get a few for my living room). A big thank you to the
LinuxTag organization team for making this a wonderful event!
- The bathrobes
What an entrance we made at the LinuxNight social event, where approx.
300 of our peers where wondering where we got them, and why we wore
them. Some of them may have called us crazy, but I bet most of them were
wondering where they could get one themselves *bg*
- The Live USB station
After the great success of the Live USB station, Stefan and myself will
attempt to enable any ambassador or enthusiast create such a station
(where people stick in their USB thumb drive and hear a victory tune
when making a Live USB stick is finished), as simple as "yum install".
More on this topic the next couple of weeks.
So, again, thank you all for attending, making it work and getting it to
be the greatest event I've had so far!

self-intoduction
by antonio montagnani
Hello everybody
I am a Chemical engineer, 56 years old. I am living in Northern Italy,
between Milan and lake of Como.
I was an expert of Computer assisted design in chemical engineering,
before the Personal Computer age, that started in my office with a
carton box from the Big Blue in 1983!!! I entered the Linux world at the
beginning of the 2000s only because in a computer magazine I found a CD
with RedHat 6.0 and as I am curious I installed an OS different from
Windows. Since then I never left Redhat and finally I switched to Fedora.
In 2002 I introduced Linux in my office, Redhat at first and Fedora then.
As I love the bleeding edge software, I am pleased to use Fedora, and I
like also Rawhide (writing from a F10 now)....
For your information, I learnt Linux the hard way, no help around, I
could only trust on the various mailing list: then some friend of mine
saw my machines working with Fedora and asked for help to install....now
we are a very small bunch of people working with Fedora here around.
As I got much from Fedora, I decided to join the Ambassador group to
give back some help to the Fedora help: of course, as I am not a big
expert of software I could only join a group where not many deep
technical skill were requested.
I am running a small local website related to linux and fedora only as a
meeting point for people interested in Linux/Fedora in the neighboroughs.
Please note that I joined the list as antoniomontag , can anybody
explain how to modify my account to AntonioMontagnani ???

LinuxTag Photos
by Robert M. Albrecht
Hi,
I erased some pictures, that were either very ugly or had major problems
(unsharp, to dark, ...)
http://www.sponck.de/LinuxTag.zip
It`s a rather large archive (265MB), so I hope my webserver does not explode.
The pictures are exif-renamed and geotagged, but otherwise untouched.

Let me introdruce myself
by Marcel Berlau
y name is Marcel Berlau I'm 31 years old and I live in the
vicinity of Cologne / Germany in Roesrath close to the airport Cologne /
Bonn.
For 10 years I was an airmen in the Luftwaffe and now I work since last
August for an IT-Company in Cologne. I do system-integration.
Since December I'm responsible for everything about Linux here in
Cologne for my Company and on the other hand I'm one of five guys for
all the stuff about Xen.
Presently our customers use a lot of SLES environments but we think at
the end of the year we are also able to present RHEL.
I personally use Linux for about 8 years now in the private. Starting
with SUSE Linux 8.0 I switched quick to Red Hat Linux 9.0 after I bought
an Red Hat Magazine at the store and I was fascinated about things
working in RH but not in SUSE out-of-the-box.
So I stayed with RH but I was a little bit worried about the step to
the community with Fedora. But since FC 3 I use Fedora as the
main-system at home.
Also I always try to look beside Fedora with virtual machines of
Debian,Ubuntu an other Linux flavors.
So why I want to become an ambassador? Because I want to give the
Fedora community something back. I'm not very good in programming and
maintaining packages but I hope as an ambassador I can help to show
people
outside of the official and unofficial forums and mailing-list that
Fedora is an very good state of the art Linux, easy to use free and
open-source and with a lot of ideas.
My plan is to represent Fedora here in Cologne and around to various
LUG's (Installing Parties for example) and if possible at different
kind of activities.
