I had roughly 40 people show up and I have about 5 - 10 who are interested
in getting involved with devlopment and packaging. Already have one who has
submitted his first review request and is waiting for a sponsor. Others want
to get more involved with writing utilities for the security spin (our
University Computer Science deparment recently opened a Digital Forensics
department so that is still new and fresh with a lot of people going that
I've been in touch with lmacken about the security spin stuff and I hope to
move forward with that asap.

I saw this Koji outage affect us at the SCaLE booth just once this
weekend, but I don't know how many more there might have been. Do we
want to ask Infrastructure to consider the events schedule when
planning outages? Not as a trump card, just a consideration.

This has been completed and building is back to normal. please report
any odd failures. there has been a very large change in koji.
noarch subpackages are now supported, which needs srpms to be built in
a chroot. the last of F-11's features that needed koji changes are now
ready to deploy.

More and more SCaLE 7x reports are coming in from the event this
weekend. I've been hard at work collecting them on the SCaLE7x Event
page on the wiki
Please take a moment and make sure I got them all and add yours if I didn't.
Also, please take a moment and blog about the FAD if you already
didn't. Especially what you liked and didn't like about the process
and how it can be improved. I think FADs are the best tool for
socializing and getting stuff done. My thought is we will be holding
one at every major event we participate.

I'm part of Tacoma Linux Users Group (taclug.org) and for our next
meeting I'm pitching a "test-fest" for Fedora 11 Beta. The meeting is
March 21st and we won't quite have Beta public, but I should have copies
of the isos necessary to do testing.
Since this will be our first meeting at the local University, we're
going to try and get more students involved. I have no idea how many
people are going to show up, it should be interesting.
Fedora -- Freedom² is a feature!
This is regarding the install fest and FAD at KGEC. The organizers have
arranged everything that we wanted. They have changed the venue to their LAB
where we will get
2 MBps internet connectivity. They have also managed to get funds in just 2
days and are arranging for food packets for everybody including the
participants. There is no participation fee for the event. Participation
well over 100 is expected. The FAD starts at 11:00 a.m and continues till
the evening with a break in between. The agenda is upon us to decide.
Its an install fest cum FAD. So will definitely need all the help we can
get to man the booth in the morning and help out in the workshops as well.
Bring whatever slides you can. Will decide what exactly to do. The agenda I
was thinking is
1> Introduction to Linux and Fedora (Arindam's slides)
2> Installation(using DVD) and configuration( probably using a local
3> Talk on Myths about Linux busted with Fedora (Subodip's slideshow)
4> A demo and workshop on the various softwares and utilities.
5> Talk on how to contribute to FOSS and how to join Fedora ( Possibly
using Satya's slides)
The speakers are yet to be decided. All I know is that Debayan,
Ratnadeep, Kishan Goyal and me along with Indranil da are attending the
event. Don't know about Dipanjan or Sarbartha. hey haven't confirmed yet. I
want Indranil da to say something. Will talk to him tomorrow. Suggest
anything, any change or any addition, you want. Remember, the agenda for the
event isn't final yet. Anyone who wants to speak on anything else please let
me know. I will be needing 100 DVDs. Anyone who has it please supply.
Debayan is bringing some, maybe 50. I'll need atleast 50 more and some FEL
DVDs as well. Please reply ASAP.
