Fedora 11 Preview Sound Problem
by Rishikesh Sharma
Hello Everyone,
I have downloaded and tested Fedora 11 preview on my LG RD400 Laptop. With
Fedora 9 and 10, I don't have any issue with sound. But with Fedora 11
preview, I am experiencing problem with the sound. The sound quality and the
sound volume level is extremely poor. I hope, Fedora 11 preview uses
PulseAudio instead ALSA. How can i change my default sound device from
PulseAudio to ALSA. Please help me to fix the sound issue on Fedora 11
Preview.

[Event Report] NBKR Institute, Vidyanagar, Andhra Pradesh, India
by Shakthi Kannan
Hi,
I addressed the following topics for a Free Software workshop at NBKR
Institute of Science and Technology, Vidyanagar, Nellore district,
Andhra Pradesh, India on Saturday, May 2, 2009:
* Career opportunities with Free Software
* i-want-2-do-project. tell-me-wat-2-fedora.
* Mailing list guidelines
* Communication guidelines
* Fedora sub-projects
* Embedded Systems concepts
I would like to thank Rajesh Sola, Lecturer, for organizing the
workshop, and for coordinating with me for the past couple of months
for this workshop.
The CS labs have Fedora installed. I have given them Fedora 10 DVDs
and stickers (thanks to Rahul Sundaram) which they can distribute to
other engineering departments.
Pointers to fedora mailing lists, IRCs have been given to the students.
Some photos taken during this trip and at the venue are available at:

Fedora Activity Day in Malaysia
by Max Spevack
Hi all,
We're trying to put together a Fedora Activity Day in Malaysia at the
end of May, to coincide with another event that is already on our
calendar.
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FAD_Malaysia_May_2009
If you are interested in attending, or if you have ideas for what sorts
of projects we could work on during the FAD, please edit the wiki page
above.
We're happy to help out with some travel subsidies to the event from the
CommArch budget, in the interest of organizing a face-to-face meeting of
various Ambassadors in the region.
Hopefully this will come together, but that is dependent on people &
ideas!
Thanks for your attention,
Max

Fedora México
by Renich Bon Ciric
Hey, guys!
Well, I'm a new Ambassador. I'm glad I finally decided to become one
and I hope I can do much for the community in my region.
Speaking of which, IMHO, México's community is weak regarding inner
collaboration. I've reviewed the list and saw many collaborators (not
as many as I would like) in México.
This is an attempt to bring unity to us. Juan Rodríguez and Me have
set up a facebook website called "Fedora México", which is an
extension of Juan's website: http://proyectofedora.org/mexico/
The sole intention is to bring, the mexican community, closer and to
be able to collaborate among us to make people more aware of Fedora.
Please, we're open to any kind of criticism/suggestion. Feel free to
reply and speak your mind!
Thanks again!
