Campus Ambassadors for Malaysia
by Mohd Izhar Firdaus Ismail
Hi,
I have several questions regarding campus ambassador programme which
we currently have online at
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Campus_Ambassadors. A local college
asking me about it , and how they can get their students to be
involved.
1) Do we have any defined guideline on how an Ambassador should
manage/guide Campus Ambassadors? What we should do, etc.? As colleges
and students might expect some sort of clear information on what their
students and the college itself can benefit out of it, outline of the
programme, etc.
2) Regarding some of benefits for the Campus Ambassadors:
# Stipends for running an event (pizza, soda, etc.)
# Schwag to give out at events and a cool exclusive Campus Ambassadors, t-shirt
# Earn a trip to FUDCon!!!
These 3 benefits involves money (especially the final one). Malaysia
ambassadors have been moving mainly on our own cost for the past 2
years, so we might need more support in term of ease to acquire swags
/ stipends if we want to start supporting Campus Ambassador program
for local colleges and students. As for "Earn a trip to FUDCon", are
there any particular requirement before a particular Campus Ambassador
is eligible for it?
Any Singapore ambassadors around? What else can we request from
RH-APAC besides CDs and whats the limit per request?
(talking to an OpenSuSE ambassador here, apparently they can just drop
by at Novell Malaysia office and grab some swags - tux and geeko
dolls, keychains, mousepad - and max 120 SuSE evalutaion / OpenSuSE
CDs directly there, just need to sign off some papers)
Thats all for now,
Thanks

Achieving old freemedia requests for F10 and opening form for F11.
by susmit shannigrahi
Hi,
I am going to open up the freemedia form in an hour.
Before that a few notes:
1. I have moved all F10 tickets to three separate reports. Report 25,
26,27. These are not grouped by region, only grouped by countries. If
you have any difficulty regarding this move, please let me know.
2. New requests for F11 will be categorised by Region and Country as
earlier. There should not be any problem regarding this.
And thanks a lot for your nice works.

Re: [Ambassadors] Fedora books?
by Gaurav Prabhu
Get Linux Bible by Christopher Negus. Linux Toolkit by the same author. Negus writes very well. In depth & in lucid language. Maybe subscribing to a monthly Linux magazine like Linux For You may help you further. Not to forget join online forums & follow top blogs to stay updated always.
Good day.

As I get people asking me about Fedora, I find I don't know much on the subject (yeah I know ambassador who doesn't know his distro), so I was wondering if anyone knows any books out there that could help me learn more about Fedora and Linux in general...(please don't say Linux for dummies...)
Thanks,
Emilio

back to the list.
Now i have a question:
"I'm doing a Fedora event this Friday 3 of July, and i'll take some
pictures and video, should i post them to somewhere in the fedora wiki?
Thanks in advance and my regards.
