Re: [Ambassadors] CD / DVD stickers needed
by Vali Cobelea
Hi,
Thank you for this info, I'm planning several short presentations about
Fedora Project at the University of Galati, Romania, and I did not know from
where / how to get Fedora 11 CDs / DVDs.

Call for Fedora 13 release events.
by susmit shannigrahi
Hi All,
We are pretty excited about the release we are approaching. Thanks
goes to everyone for their brilliant efforts.
The release events have always been an integral part of our releases.
Many ambassadors and contributors have already started planning the
parties.
As we have merely three weeks to go before the release, its time that
we start working on placing things in place.
If you are planning an event, you are welcome to do it.
To make things easier to organise, please follow the steps (there are
not many steps to follow though. :))
1. Start by creating an wiki page. The wikipage should be at
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Release_Party_F13_<your_city>.
2. Edit the page and at the top of the page write
{{subst:ReleaseParty}} and save.
3. Now fill in the details. Information requirement is minimal. You
won't need more than five minutes.
4. Link your page from https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/F13_release_events
If you need any budget or support for your release event, you are
welcome to ask for it. Please fill in the appropriate section in your
event page.
Also, we will have a meeting in the second week of May (Around 10th)
to discuss issues and clarifications regarding organisation of release
events. In the meanwhile, if you want to ask anything or need
anything, please drop me/Tatica/Luca a mail.
Thanking you all for your brilliant efforts,
--
Regards,
Susmit.

Re: [Ambassadors] Questions asked at event booths
by Ben Williams
Looks like the page is coming along fine
IMHO yes we can mention rpmfusion but make sure you give the spill on
why things like codecs etc are not in fedora, if in doubt send them to
fedorasolved.org

Ambassadors Cert Exam?
by Jeff Sandys
Should we have an Ambassadors Certification Examination?
I enjoyed working the fedora table at LinuxFest NorthWest. Because I am familiar with many of the packages available in fedora I was able to point out special applications that would meet user's needs. When a user asked about ATI graphics issues I replied I couldn't answer. But when a user carrying an imac (comparing it to colorful OLPCs) asked if we had a powerPC version, I answered incorrectly, saying no.
It would be useful to have a quiz or list of frequent and infrequent questions so that we could be better ambassadors. I don't think the quiz should be mandatory for being an ambassador, just using the subject line to create a dialog.
Thanks,
Jeff Sandys

Questions asked at event booths
by Ben Williams
When working the event booths it is not a bad thing to say "I dont know,
but give you your contact infomation and I will be glad to find out".
I agree I think its time to start compileing a list of the common
questions asked at events.
and put them up on the wiki somewhere.
