[EMEA] Talks for FOSDEM 2011

1 Desktop spins DVD vs. 4 Desktop spins CDs ?

Hello friends, I just wanted to know about your opinion, if we should consider replacing the current 4 CDs of Desktop spins media production with the 1 DVD which contains all 4 spins? Maybe even with F14 ? Organisational Marketing (Tour Fedora)

Dear Fedora Team Members I’ve been occupied with my studies for the past few months, but not I can sneak out some time. Just wondering if there’s someone around who can help or guide me with organisational marketing, We are working here with 500+ computers (university campus) and rarely anyone knows about Fedora Or Red Hat or Linux J So I guess it’ll be a great opportunity to introduce Fedora and a little about Free Open Source Software’s. I was thinking about an event, more like an introduction to Linux and Fedora. I hope to find some resources and guidelines around; any help from U.K Contributors will be appreciated. post-FOSDEM Super Bowl viewing

I'm trying to find out whether the restaurant that had a Super Bowl party last year in Brussels still has spaces left for this year, and I'm curious to know if there are folks who will be at FOSDEM who have any interest in watching the game. I have to put down a cash deposit to save the seats, which requires me to know in advance how many seats we need, since last year they ran out and I got lucky to get two seats at the last second. Frederic has volunteered to bring the cash and allow me to pay him back, since he lives in Brussels, but I need to know who might want to watch the game. If we are lucky, we can get 5 seats. If we are unlucky, we will get less. Details: FOSDEM ends on Sunday, February 6th in the afternoon. The Super Bowl is also on Sunday, February 6th. But it starts just after midnight in Brussels, as Sunday turns over to Monday, and lasts about 4 hours. So if you're still in Brussels (most people already have left by then) at that time and you care at all about American football and want to come watch the game with me, let me know. Once I hear back from the restaurant as to the spaces that are left, I'll send another email. As I said before, we'll be lucky if we can get 5 seats. --Max

Visa for FOSDEM!

Dear all, I am planning to go in Brussels, Belgium on the 4th till 7th of February, 2011 for being a part of Fedora Project team as an Ambassador at FOSDEM (conference), for that I need a Schengen Visa. I had my appointment today to apply but couldn’t go in time to apply because I didn’t have “the original” invitation paper which arrived 1 hour later. I have all documents ready including original invitation paper, plane ticket reservation, booked hotel, parental and school permit etc. I am applying at Belgian Embassy in Prishtina, Kosovo in my next appointment at 10:45 (GMT +01:00) this Thursday (27th). Chances are minimal to get it because I am late but If somebody can help me, it’ll be more than appreciated! Please spread the word! Sincerely, Gent

[X-post] Remote_Mini_Wiki_Editing_FAD2_2011

Hello, We recently held a FAD[1] to clean up wiki pages related to Category:Distribution. Since none of the participants knew languages such as Italian etc., there still are a few pages that need attention. Would Ambassadors interested in taking part in a follow up FAD[2]. The follow up will take care of some other stuff related to the Fedora Distribution process too. It would be two hours max, and depending upon who wants to be there, we can have a time that suits most people. Please do have a look at your schedules. Towards FODSEM

Hello to all Ambassadors! FOSDEM 2011 will start in 3 days and we are pretty excited as 35 Fedorians will be present to rock FOSDEM the Fedora-way ! Some final notes : - At Friday 4/2 we will have our FAD FOSDEM 2011 [1] at 13:00 (more info on the wiki page) and we will stay there until FOSDEM beer event.
