OSS2012
by Zied Fakhfakh
Hi Guys,
I just Joined the Organizing team of OSS2012 (http://www.oss2012.org) that
will held in TUNISIA next september.
We are looking for sponsors and "keynoters", so here's my question, can the
fedora project be part of this event.
If someone want to send a paper, please beware that Paper submission
deadline has been extended to 16 March 2012.
Kind regards,
Zied.

Video idea and inspiration page created
by Sarah White
Hello,
As per the fedora videos action item assigned to Dan (irc and fas:
mojavelinux) and therefore also connected to me since we're in the
same office, we've created a rough draft version of the video idea and
inspiration page.
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Video_ideas_and_inspiration
Please note that the page is far from complete, but we want to make
sure we're on the right track before we get too deep.
The purpose of this page is to gather ideas from the community for
possible videos as well as provide ideas for people who want to create
videos and are searching for a topic. We used the fedora google
summer of code ideas wiki page as a starting template as suggested in
the meeting.
Currently, the page features a proposal template that a person can
fill out if they have an idea. Does this template ask the right
questions? Is it missing any questions?
We also created an example video proposal (how to conduct a meeting in
#fedora-meeting using zodbot) to give you an idea of what a 'real'
proposal would look like. (If you have video proposals feel free to
add them to the page, however the structure and purpose of this page
is still in draft and subject to change as the video team refines
it.).
If you have any feedback, please don't hesitate to let us know. Also
feel free to join us on #fedora-meeting on Thursday, March 8, at 15:30
UTC.
Note: I know it was suggested that emails regarding the video library
be moved to the marketing list, however I don't know if the team
officially decided this or if it has to be voted on? Either way, I
apologize if I've posted this email to the wrong list.
Regards,
Sarah

Please take a moment...
by Christoph Wickert
Hello everybody,
especially our new ambassadors,
the Fedora Ambassadors community is growing. This is good. We are
having more discussions on this list - this is good, too. Discussions
should happen in public in order to be fair and transparent to
everybody.
Unfortunately this also means that with the increased amount of mail on
this list increases it becomes hard to follow all discussions or to
filter out the relevant mails.
To make this list a place of fruitful discussions, we all should pay
attention to the mailing list guidelines. Please take a moment to read
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines
Reading these guidelines is part of the sponsoring process to become an
ambassador. If you did read them already, but are unsure about them,
please read them again, even if you are already sponsored. If you have
any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
If we all follow the mailing list guidelines, it will be easier for
everyone to bring up ideas and exchange their opinions. I'm looking
forward to this and so should you.
Thanks a lot,
Christoph

EMEA FUDCon Bids....
by Robyn Bergeron
Dear EMEA folks bidding for FUDCons and Ambassadors:
I have little to no idea what is going on with FUDCon EMEA. My
understanding is that there were some loose discussions at FOSDEM but I
am not sure where those were communicated to others offhand.
I would prefer to avoid the situation of having a 2-month planning
window like we do for APAC right now. :)
Where are we? Do we just need to start with an EMEA ambassadors meeting
for the bidders?

Fwd: FUDCon APAC 2012 will be in lovely Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!
by Robyn Bergeron
An FYI/forwarded for the APAC ambassadors, and a few reminders:
We need to start planning for KL *now*, if we are to make it happen
successfully; I would like to see the Malaysia team to arrange meetings
on a weekly basis, starting this week. The entire local planning team
should be on the fudcon-planning list for coordination and discussion.
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/fudcon-planning
In addition to the local team, myself and Harish should also be involved
or available for meetings on a weekly basis; I suggest that you send out
a whenisgood message to the core planning team to sort out a time. I
would expect that our first IRC meeting will likely be 2 hours long.
http://www.whenisgood.net/
At the first meeting, I expect to discuss the following things (and
others can certainly be added):
* Confirmation of hotel and meeting room capability
* Immediate list of to-do's
* Decide when to open up, and close, subsidy requests, and have some
agreement on how those requests will be processed
* Beginning of ticket creation/processing in Trac for important actions
to track as we plan the event
I look forward to seeing your communications on the fudcon planning
mailing list :) Can't wait for the event!
-Robyn

Subject: FUDCon APAC 2012 will be in lovely Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!
Date: Mon, 05 Mar 2012 04:55:23 -0800
From: Robyn Bergeron <rbergero(a)redhat.com>
To: announce(a)lists.fedoraproject.org
I'm delighted to announce that the APAC FUDCon for 2012 will be in Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia.
Thanks to all of those who submitted bids for this FUDCon - I am very
happy to see so much interest, and I believe the recent APAC FUDCon in
Pune truly helped to show the high interest in having ongoing FUDCons in
this region of the world.
Please stay tuned for further announcements clarifying the details of
attendance, including dates/times/places, registration, as well as
information for those seeking subsidies for attendance.
Cheers!
