Re: [Ambassadors] CD / DVD stickers needed
by Vali Cobelea
Hi,
Thank you for this info, I'm planning several short presentations about
Fedora Project at the University of Galati, Romania, and I did not know from
where / how to get Fedora 11 CDs / DVDs.

Re: [Ambassadors] Measuring success. (Reigniting the steering committee?)
by Cesar Pinto
(Adding all emails who have participated in the outreach archives, and also
the marketing list to which I have recently subscribed)
Hi Joerg,
I am thinking more along the lines of cross departmental initiatives
(marketing + ambassadors) and exploring what more could be done.
I hope none of this comes across like I´m invalidating existing efforts and
I´m suggesting we should be micromanaging --- not the intent at all... i´m
speaking from a place of blissful ignorance :-)
What I am certain of: There is enough brain-power and enthusiasm within the
project to come up with even smarter joint activities which may have a
measurable impact. (and maybe don´t even have to cost us any money!)
Just adapting behaviour, directing focus and keeping an eye in the bigger
picture. (and understanding what that picture actually is)
For example: What if we everyone in the project agreed on doing a monthly
thunderclap?
https://www.thunderclap.it/
What if all ambassadors signed up and once a month all our combined twitter
accounts sent out a single message?
What if we agreed on a provocative / catchy / simple topic, and drive
traffic within a specific demographic? ("Which Fedora are you? Take the
Survey ___Link___")
What if we made it action oriented and time-bound?
Maybe we cannot measure downloads and OK, maybe smolt did die a painful
death ... But we CAN measure retweets and google keywords :-)
http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=Fedora%2021%2C%20Fedora%20Linux%2C...
And if we do this consistently and in a regular basis, maybe we will start
to see trends. (And maybe those trends will begin to shape the project in
new and unexpected ways....)
But I agree, we should just open the dialogue and see if anyone is
interested.

I will also raise this initiative in my regular EMEA Ambassadors meeting
next week.

Promoting other distributions and conflict of interest
by Kushal Das
Hi,
Just wondering if promoting other distributions (in this case Ubuntu)
in public events should be considered as a conflict of interest? This
case the same person holds ambassador position in Fedora and similar
kind of position in Ubuntu too.

Measuring success.
by Cesar Pinto
Hi Ambassadors,
Maybe this has been raised before but I would like to raise the question of
overall goals, metrics and accountability in relation to the success of
this Fedora project.
Perhaps we could open the discussion around overall strategy for the
project in regards to adoption (what we want to achieve? by when? how?),
maybe we could look at some numbers and agree on tactical activities which
are directly impacting those?
Run it like a business meeting?
This is what I can do to contribute on a tangible manner to that goal.
Also there must be a way to measure success. Are we tracking regional
downloads to know if our efforts as ambassadors are having a measurable
impact?
The closest I´ve seen around this is an email from Matthew on event
strategy. But (myself at least) I see events as only a tactical activity,
what about PR work? technology partnerships? (docker) academic adoption?
(charitable ICT work?) training programs? (free course on linux?)
And maybe could we suggest 1 monthly (biweekly at most) meeting via video
call in addition to the IRC meetings. Maybe an idea to make things more
engaging for new ambassadors?
Thanks for your feedback.

Code of Conduct for FUDCon/Flock
by Siddhesh Poyarekar
Hi,
I was looking for a standard code of conduct or conference policy text
for Fedora premier events to use for the 2015 APAC FUDCon and all I
could find was a discussion on a proposed Code of Conduct for
Flock[1]. A bit of search trickery got me a pdf that appears to be
the 2013 Flock brochure from Ryan Lerch's website, but nothing on any
of the Fedora websites.
So my questions are:
1) Is the draft on Ryan's site final and something that Fedora
endorses and can we used it as a template for the FUDCon APAC 2015
CoC?
2) If not, is there a draft that we can use
3) If not, can we draft one (based on the 2013 Flock brochure an other
CoC references we find useful) and use it ourselves or do we have to
get it cleared from the Fedora legal team?
Thanks,
Siddhesh
