I'm writing about the French event : Rencontre Mondiale du Logiciel Libre (RMLL). It took place at Beauvais, in France.
This event lasted for one week. The week-end, it was a group of stands with many projects such as : Fedora, Ubuntu, Linuxfr.org, LibreOffice, FSF and some other associations. The rest of the week, it was the same thing with conferences.
I was present for the week-end only, Emmanuel Seyman managed the rest of event. Michael Scherer helped me for the Sunday.
Around 30 persons talked to us about Fedora Project. There were newbies, curious people who did not know Free Software and Fedora Project, and more experimented. Some of them had recently switched to Fedora (from Ubuntu or Debian for most of them). It was the occasion to explain some things : RPMFusion, Gnome Software, different spins or versions (Workstation, Server and Cloud), etc. We presented the French community too.
We received feedback or suggestions by more experimented people. For example, about Gnome Software :
* Add support of comments
* Details of applications shared between distributions : notes, comments and screenshots linked with the version of packets used
A Debian's contributor suggested to participate at reproducible compilation. The purpose is to allow the user or infrastructure to check if a RPM package is really compiled with good sources even if GPG keys are stolen.
And, some visitors bougth our goodies. We distributed our last F21 DVD, F22 DVD distributed during the rest of the week because we received new DVD this Monday.
It's all for my part. I presented the event in French on my blog : http://blog.fedora-fr.org/renault/post/Compte-rendu-du-week-end-des-RMLLs...
I hope this report will be usefull. ;)

As all of us know we have an issue with funds for events.
Do we really need to reimburse VISA fee?
For example, If 10 guys requesting for 50$ if VISA fee, we have to allocate
* This amount may help on either one or two guys to flying to an event
* This amount may really good enought to run several low budget events.
As Fedora is not a travel agency, should we continue this practise?
You are kindly invited to the meeting:
CommOps Intro Meeting on 2015-07-14 from 12:00:00 to 13:00:00 US/Eastern
The meeting will be about:
Community + Operations = CommOps
Contributors shouldn't have to choose between "building things" and "building communities that build things." The CommOps team is here to help, and to build tools and processes that are as automated and real-time as possible. You can find the full proposal on the CommOps Wiki Page:
This mail is a reminder for today's meeting for the French speaking community.

Ce mail est un rappel pour la réunion de la communauté francophone, qui aura lieu ce lundi (13 juillet) à 20h30 heure de Paris sur IRC (freenode) #fedora-meeting-1 .

I seem to keep missing the FAMNA meetings (and when school starts I will
be missing most/all of them due to late class), but I wanted to get a
permanent thread regarding TXLF started.
I think I am the closest to San Marcos, and want to be as big a part of
the Fedora presence at the conference as I can. I live in north-west San
Antonio, about 30-40 minutes from San Marcos. I have family in San
Marcos that I can poll for local info if needed.
Since this is my first event with the Ambassador team, I'm not sure of
the processes involved from the "official" side of things, so I'll be
following someone else's lead.
