Slides repository
by Germano Massullo
Hi everybody. In next weeks I will start doing in Rome @ Fusolab some
talks about how to begin to contribute to Fedora. Before I start to
create some slides, I would like to ask you if there is a repository
containing the slides done by ambassadors for their talks. I wondered
about a repository while I was looking at Flock 2016 talks list.
Thank you and have a nice day

Hello,
After having a great FUDCon LATAM 2016, we should now start thinking of
organizing the next FUDCon for our region. Any contributors are invited
to submit informative location bids for holding the next FUDCon in
LATAM. The information needed for a bid is easy to gather, and is
defined on the wiki:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FUDCon_bid_process
Premier Fedora events include the Fedora Users and Developers
Conference (FUDCon), and are fully described on the Fedora wiki as well:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Project_Events
We are opening this bid process now for the Latin American FUDCon that
is to occur between September 2017 and November 2017. Any interested
parties are invited to submit their bids. Once a bid is ready, please
send an email to the fudcon-planning list:
https://lists.fedoraproject.org/admin/lists/fudcon-planning.lists.fedorap...
The deadline is in January 27th, 2017.
We look forward to seeing your proposals!
Eduardo

FAD EMEA 2016 - Call for bids
by Zacharias Mitzelos
Hello everyone,
It's time to start planning for our annual EMEA FAD!
The EMEA FAD is an annual planning event for the EMEA community. Active
ambassadors from various countries get together to discuss what
activities we should do in the next year, what events to attend, and
what swag to produce. The main outcome of this event is the EMEA budget
proposal for the next fiscal year which includes a list of events we
will spend money on, Fedora media production, and swag production.
This 2-day event is usually hosted in early December, and we don't have
a location yet, so I'd like to ask you all to consider submitting a bid
for a potential location to host the EMEA FAD this year.
The German community was organizing these FADs over the past few years.,
and you can get an idea from the previous FADs:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FAD_Rheinland_2014
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FAD_Rheinfelden_2013
There is also a FAD wiki template that you can use to organize your
proposal:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Template:FAD
Please post a link of your proposal here.
Thanks,
Zacharias

Meetup.com account
by Nemanja Milosevic
Hello all,
I was wondering about the possibility of opening a shared Fedora Meetup.com account. It's become really popular in my area - the main advantage being that when you type your city, you get all the events near you that may interest you.
The membership is around $5/month if I understand it correctly and someone could administer it and create meetups in different cities and countries for Fedora Release Parties and all kinds of different events. I wanted to create one for the upcoming F25 release party in Novi Sad, Serbia, but it seemed too wasteful to open a monthly fee account for a couple of events per year. :(
It's just an idea I had, so please let me know if you think it's a good one. :)
Kind regards,
Nemanja

Re: Meetup.com account

Meetup.com is not a tool, it is social network with wide audience.
We can setup out own tooling for meetup organizations, but we still need a
way to reach out to people outside of Fedora bubble. To those who don't
know that our nice open source regional hubs even exist.
For example Fedora Project has account on Google Plus (which is a closed
service), but this doesn't make Fedora "proprietary". I don't see why we
can not apply the same logic for meetup.com
