Let's equip our Communities in EMEA
by Giannis Konstantinidis
Hello everyone,
during the last EMEA irc meeting, I proposed that we should make sure all active
communities within our region are equipped with basic booth equipment such as
roll-up banners and tableclothes.
Currently, there is just one or two tableclothes for the whole region. Not every
community has its own roll-up banners and while some do, these are not anymore
in a proper working condition (e.g. colors have started fading out, stands are
showing signs of heavy use).
Spending budget on such an initiative can be considered a good investment, since
the equipment produced will last for years and will enable our communities to
look overall more professional when representing the project during events and
conferences. We still have a significant amount of the current fiscal year's
budget unspent and we can definitely use some of it.
Does your community lack some booth equipment? Please visit the following wiki
page and let us know:

Just wanted to share here, as many here may have faced similar issues
while grooming new contributors.
It'll help if you could share anyways you've found to keep new
contributors from being scared.
Thank you.

LinuxCon Europe in Berlin
by Jiri Eischmann
Hi,
I'm organizing a Fedora booth at LinuxCon Europe that is held in Berlin
on Oct 4-6. I managed to get a booth for free and I'm looking for 2
more volunteers to staff the booth with me. Anyone interested?
If there are more candidates, I prefer local ambassadors and those who
have more experience because LinuxCon Europe is attended by IT
professionals and it requires certain knowledge and overview to promote
Fedora there.

FAMNA request for swag
by Paul W. Frields
I put a request into the Fedora Hosted Trac for famnarequests a week
or so ago, seeking swag for a Software Freedom Day event now about 3
weeks out, but hadn't seen any response.
Is this tracker/queue still monitored and cared for?

[EMEA] Q2 FY17 Budget report in pagure
by Zacharias Mitzelos
Hello everyone,
I've created the quarterly EMEA budget report for the 2nd quarter of
FY17, and created a pull request in pagure[1].
You can find the report here[2]. I also wrote a blog post about the
outcomes of the report in my blog[3].
I’m pretty sure that this is the first time after a long period of time
that all the expenses made during the quarter were *also* reimbursed
during the same quarter. This is extremely convenient for everyone, the
community credit card holder, me (keeping the books), and Red Hat. Many
thanks to everyone that submitted their receipts on time and asked for
reimbursement from the community credit card holder, and of course many
thanks to jsimon for reimbursing everyone so promptly :)
Finally I hope that this email will also serve as a kind reminder to the
rest of the regional treasurers, and push the reports for their regions
to pagure.
Thanks,
Zacharias

Introducing Myself
by Rosnel Echevarria
Fellow Ambassadors,
My Name is Rosnel (Ross) Echevarria and I would like to introduce myself as
a new FAmNA Ambassador. I'm based out of Miami, FL. and currently work as
Director of Information Technology for a medium-size retail company.
I'm thrilled about the opportunity to work with a number of terrific
individuals promoting an equally terrific distribution and community. My
current interests are to not only spread the word about Fedora, but to also
get more involved within the Fedora ecosystem and participate in QA and
other development activities.
I want to thank my sponsor, Andrew Ward, for all of his help and guidance
during the past several months.
It's great to be here. Ready to get things done and have some fun. Feel
free to reach me any time. You can find my user page at
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/User:Reher
Thank you,
Ross
