Organizing a Fedora Women Day 2017 event
by Jona Azizaj
Hello ambassadors,
Fedora Women Day (FWD) is a day of celebration dedicated to the female
contributors of the Fedora Project. During this day of celebration, local
communities around the world will gather to present the accomplishments of
the women that are part of the Fedora Project and thank them. FWD is a
great chance to promote the participation of more women, bring together
contributors and raise awareness about the gender gap in tech communities.
*When and where*
This year FWD is planned to be organized during September. Since it is
difficult to determine a specific date for an event like this, it is up to
the local communities to pick the most appropriate date for them during the
month of September.
*Are you interested in organizing Fedora Women Day?*
If you would like to organize a FWD event in your region, there is more
information about event organizing on our wiki page
<https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Women_Day_2017>. It is
important to *confirm
your participation* as an organizer *by August 20th 2017*. There are a few
guidelines to help you put together an event, such as agenda ideas and
planning points for you to use. A FWD event also does not have to be in a
physical place either. You can also participate remotely with one of the
events happening in September via audio/video call.
If you have any question feel free to ask us :)
Thank you,
Jona

LATAM Ambassador Request
by Brian Monroe
Hello fellow ambassadors! While running the booth at ossna last week I had
the privilege of meeting an attendee that runs a training website out of
Guatemala. It has been a long time since he had tried fedora so after
talking about some it's the changes he said he would try it out. He
recently contacted me on email, and said he had been enjoying his
experience so far, and expressing interest in becoming a contributor. I was
hoping to find someone local to him that he could connect with. Is anyone
from that area available? If so, send me an email and I'll get you his
contact info! Thanks!

Open Source Summit Europe is looking for event owner
by Jiří Eischmann
Hi,
I was supposed to organize a Fedora presence at Open Source Summit
Europe (formerly LinuxCon) in Prague on Oct 23-26, but I've got an
important training at work at that week and can't participate.
We've always been present at European LinuxCons and it'd be a pity if
we weren't there this year. Brian (CC'ed) would like us to be part of
the Red Hat booth.
We need someone who will take over the ownership of the event, organize
ppl, content of the booth, accommodation, travels etc. We should have 3
booth personnel (not necessarily ambassadors) there.
Any volunteers?
Jiri
