Hello ambassadors,
Even this year we, The Fedora Diversity and Inclusion team, are
organizing Fedora Women's Day events around the world in September to
bring more visibility to diverse communities empowering open source
projects - including Fedora. We have started to accept proposals for
Fedora Women's Days events and we would love to organize FWD across
different locations around the world.
We are looking to collaborate with members of different open source
communities including Fedora, women in tech groups or hackerspaces to
organize Fedora Women’s Day!
Here is more information on Fedora Women's Day, how it can benefit
individuals and communities and how you can organize one:

*Important dates*
Submission deadline: Thursday, 16 August 2018
Acceptance deadline: Friday, 24 August 2018 (this is the latest date you
hear from the D&I Team if your proposal is accepted)
Suggested FWD dates: 22-23 September 2018
Please let us know how we can help or support.
Cheers,
Jona
Hi all,
Due to a sudden change in my availability, I am looking for someone to
replace me as an event owner for HackMIT from Sept. 15-16 in Boston, MA.
HackMIT is an annual hackathon event held for students at the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Fedora has attended for the past
two years:
https://communityblog.fedoraproject.org/hackmit-meets-fedora/https://communityblog.fedoraproject.org/fedora-returns-hackmit-2017/
I began the negotiating process for a third year, but I am no longer
able to attend the event. I reached out to the Fedora Objective leads
and received interest in an introduction to modularity for engineering
students by Langdon White and possibly other Red Hatters for IoT at the
Westford Red Hat office (CC'd). Mike DePaulo is also available to attend
HackMIT as well.
I am able to finish the negotiating process, but I am unable to commit
time and resources to event organization. I am looking for someone else
to take lead on planning our presence and messaging, as well as
logistics for shipping and receiving Fedora swag items.
This event has not yet been voted on or reviewed by the North American
Ambassadors – so it is not finalized. I hope we can still plan for
another presence this year.
If you are interested in taking lead on this, please reply on-list, and
I will loop you into the existing thread with the HackMIT organizers.
Thanks!
