Thanks for bringing this up Francesco.
Yes, I think we need to hold a new FAmSCo election as laid out in the
Election Rules.
Right, we ought to keep the project to it's rules :-)
As for preferred dates, I will throw some out as a starting point for
discussion:
Nominations: 11/21/2007 to 11/30/2007
Voting Period: 12/4/2007 to 12/11/2007
The nomination period should be long enough to be sure all Ambassadors
know about the election. The voting period crosses weeks to help
account for people that might be on vacation one week or the other.
Looks quite all right, although we might want to extend the nominations
period with the weekend of 1 & 2 Dec (just in case). Weekends tend to
result in more input somehow, don't ask me why.
Thanks,
Jeffrey
OTOH: I'm going to question the fact if we need a steering committee
anyway. Basically I was stunned when I read that famsco has a meeting
twice a year. I don't get the point of it then anymore. If this be the
case, then we might want to look at two or maybe three people per region
who are the main contacts for that particular reason and these people
get together in whatever famsco should be doing. I might be terribly
wrong about this still.
To be honest here, I had too look up [1] who was serving on famsco
(except Thomas and Francesco), because I had no idea.
