Not everyone can pay the subscription, and they use proprietary
software.
I am not aware of any country in which
meetup.com charges people who
attend the events, unless the event owner chooses to collect money. I
believe the original proposal was to pay
meetup.com to allow us to list
our free events in markets where listing this makes sense.
I think it's hard to think that you can freely download fedora,
composed
only by free/libre software and then offer a proprietary alternative. It
just goes against the philosophy of the whole thing in my opinion!
I haven't read anything where someone is proposing to replace Fedora
with a proprietary offering. Can you elaborate on this?
