Scholl computers are kinda old - P2 with 64 mb of RAM - so KDE
certanly would work very slow on them. What window manager to chose.

Hmm....why would the teachers want to move to Fedora ? Should that not
cause a whole lot of pain for the SysAdmins, Teachers and of course the
students in terms of learning new things and maintaining the system ?
:)
That said - you could begin by doing the following:
o List out the everyday tasks/regular tasks that the OS environment is
supposed to perform
o What are the various services that are being provided
o How do the various users - students, teachers use the OS environment
- From thereon, the way forward would be to provide a small setup where
all the above things can be demonstrated with ease. This would require
the buy-in of some teachers and students (since you cannot take care of
the systems 24x7)
