Because Fedora is composed and distributed by Red Hat, Inc (a United
States company), it is subject to United States export laws. Our Export
Policy is a direct result of that.
Just to know.
If I download Fedora from an European mirror, does these restrictions are
applied as well?
And also, since "Fedora software in source code and binary code form are
publicly available and are not subject to the EAR in accordance with
§742.15(b).", in theory someone can compile it by itself and use Fedora to
build a space launch vehicle? :-)
And, just to clarify, if also the binary code is not subject to EAR, what
is subjected to these restrictions?
