For those of you keeping score at home, Lindependence Portland is on
Oct. 25 in Beaverton. To my knowledge, Matt McKenzie (LinuxKnight) is
a Fedora ambassador in Portland who is in contact with David Kaplan,
the organizer of the event. If John Poelstra could also lend a hand,
that would be fantastic.

If he can help awesome, the more the merrier :).  I'm still kinda new at this stuff...

Matt could probably tell us more about this, but I believe he may need
some media and other Fedora materials. Matt?

Yes I have agreed to help with this, but have no materials, so if we can arrange any materials for this that would be cool.
EventBox, EEEPC / MiniPC laptop type stuff?? Would really like to show one of those off with Fedora...
Larry you mentioned speaking with Karsten (?) about getting some stuff?
All I have right now is my work issue regular laptop (15") running Fedora.

We could also use some help from marketing.  Larry you ran this thing in Felton, CA, what did you do for marketing then?
That isn't really my area of expertise.

You or David should probably see about doing some press releases, I'll see what I can do as well.
There is OSU, and there is also Portland State nearby, though I have no real contacts yet at either one.

[As for me, any trip to Oregon would have to include a side trip to
Corvallis if for no other reason to see the OSU Open Source Lab, but I
believe Corvallis and Portland are about 100 miles apart, or possibly
more.]

Yes Corvallis to Portland is roughly 1.5-2 hour trip depending on traffic.
