Dear Fedora Ambassadors
A few days ago we (Fedora Indonesia) had guests from Germany. Mr. Mario Behling of LXDE fundation. He called on us to attend and represent Fedora Indonesia in the event Gnome Asia Summit to be held in Vietnam in November 2010. Honestly we do not have the funds to transport and accommodation costs, we are pure free support community and do not get support funds from any others party. My question, could we get funding for transport and accommodation from Fedora, to attend the Gnome Asia Summit in Vietnam? honest we really wanted to attend the event. as Fedora Indoneisa.
Thanks a lot.
warm regards.

So a couple of things that would help us:
Can you outline the expected costs and what will get accomplished by us sending you?
If you want to see how this is evaluated you can take a look here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Sponsoring_event_attendees

Getting support should not be a problem at all. On the other hand, we can not support a huge number of travel requests. So, whether an event is sponsored or not depends on the merit of it. I really think it would be nice if we have our representation at Gnome Asia Summit.
What really needed is the planning about what we are going to do there. Please make up a wiki page, start working with other collaborators and once you have a rough draft, we can talk about travel and other stuffs.
We are very pleased to hear of the possibility of funding from fedora. For details we still do not know for sure, but as we know it, we will update details soon. Only 2-3 people just to represent Fedora Indonesia.
I will immediately implement suggestions from you, as soon as possible. Later we (Fedora Indonesia) will talk about plans, about the activities there and the funds we need.
Any suggestions are welcome. because we follow the first time something like this and we need your help.
Thanks a lot.

I am Fedora Ambassador in Vietnam.
I think you may have a mistake here. Gnome Asia Summit should be held in 2009 in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam: http://2009.gnome.asia/
I was planning to attend that as Fedora Ambassador and HanoiLUG member but at the last time, I had to postpone my schedule because of a critical business case.
Are you sure that event will be back to Vietnam this year? Could you please share some more information with us.
Kind regards, Tuan
