You could write a python script that would only call the
aforementioned yum command, and then wrap that (and all the needed
Python modules) in a .exe that you can then run on Windows.

And please, this is definitely not a topic for the ambassadors
mailing-list. It seems it is increasingly becoming the default
mailing-list for people who don't know where to write, and it is
getting annoying.

The Fedora users list would be more suitable to ask where to ask when
you're in doubt, rather than a forum that is specialized in a
completely unrelated matter.

This is the kind of solution that we need.  Linux converts mostly want
to see results after clicking an executable.  But then, I lack the
coding skill to do it.  I'm learning python mainly for Blender
scripting.

That is encouraging, Ahmed.

The Linux OS is largely an internet dependent OS and Fedora is not
excluded.  Unfortunately, the internet is a luxury that most Africans
can't afford.  Yet, Africans need Linux more than any OS out there. 
Everyday, an African buys a pirated software because he wants to perform
a task on Windows.  Most Windows installations in Nigeria (for example)
are cracked.  Most users can afford the genuine thing over time (...
longer time) but piracy comes cheap and fast.

An average Nigerian user needs to know that Linux provides the platform
for their usual applications (e.g Openoffice.org Writer/AbiWord for Word
processing, Firefox for Internet Browsing, and Calc/Gnumeric for
Spreadsheets and, of course, .... you know the rest of them).  They need
to know that they can get the usual functionality at little or zero cost
(although in reality, there's nothing like zero cost ... but I guess you
know what I mean).  Getting this information across is not really the
problem.  The real problem is sustaining the enthusiasm.  I have been
able to convince some to use Fedora but its sad to watch them resort to
their pirated software because they couldn't do something ...something
really simple 

Most computer users here are spoiled by the Windows ease  (Click and
move on ... you know, like a moron).  You can understand why chasing
dependencies is sufficient to turn them off.  So any tool to make life
easier is highly welcome.  I believe they'll be more willing to explore
Linux when we have more IT inclined persons who are confident with the
basics: Installation, Updates/dependencies and the Super-User
Administrative concept.  The more the Africans who are independent and
efficient in those, the better for African Ambassadors.  The rest will
follow shortly.  Its not good when the converts call you to perform such
simple tasks.  Once that starts happening, you stand a chance of loosing
them because there are too many people to reach.

Summary: 
1. We need more Ambassadors
2. We need more anti-dummy tools (for the idiots)
3. We need more variety in to choose from

There's interesting thing I've seen through my education and it was
completely obvious
Big companies go to schools, 'polish' their products for the next
generations, thoses who will be asked later for solutions to problems
To achieve what you pointed at you need to target students at colleges
especially IT related (Computer science, Engineering,..) and your
friends,
and remmber KDE, Compiz stuff and other things They will like it very much
about internet issues you can make additional dvd or cd contains
necessay packages for most of users and distribute it with the
live/installation media,of course they will call you every hour to ask you
and remmber that not all of the truth must be said to newbies ;)
If there's someone who can help in theses points and increase number
of fedora users,It's you

I think that colleges do help students get introduced to GNU/Linux systems,
but then its all upon the students/teachers too. For example, my college
runs RHEL5 on most PCs (Except for the AutoCAD lab and a few other labs) but
most students cant write a shell script. Holding seminars or workshops on
regular basis would do the deal (I think)

The next thing would be the distribution. For example, if some person in
Nigeria wants to go and check out a copy of OSes he can install, he should
be able to get a media for no cost/nominal cost covering media-cost. I would
not start the Canonical/Ubuntu media debate here, because it has happened a
few times here. But it would help if a person walks into the CD store and
sees some GNU/Linux distros besides Mac and Windows.

And then he compares: Windoze 7 Home ed for 150$ vs Fedora (2DVD pack?) for
less than $25. Also, more spins?
