Hi all, I sent a mail few day ago about Italian Linux Day that will be on October 25th.
We will bet on Fedora USB fill station, but we wish to have also CD/DVDs to give away, we won't to spend money to print CDs.. there are still Fedora 9 CD/DVDs left?
Unfortunately, we can't provide Fedora 10, because it will come out about few days after October 25th .
I hope someone can reply to me.
thanks luca

I can help make sure that you get some Fedora 9 Live CDs. How many do you think you will need?
Sorry for not seeing your initial request...

Gerold -- I don't know if this is on the Ambassadors areas of the wiki somewhere, but it's very useful information. If Ambassadors have some guidelines for how many pieces of media they should consider requesting, it helps in the overall budget planning as well.
It may not be as simple as saying "1 CD for every {5,10,...} people." For some small events, it makes sense to have 1 piece of media for each person. For some larger ones, the ratio may need to be smaller if we want to stay within budget!
This would be a useful thing to consider drafting and having the Ambassador community think about. I don't think it needs to be an absolute rule, but rather a guideline for planning.

We could only have a simple page with a recap of each event in this matter: how much people were there ? How much CDs were given ?
After some time, we could build some empirical rules over those numbers...
This would be an easy solution to set sup, and it would fill very quickly as we have lots of events all around the world, providing rather good statistical informations...

Generally we use events report posted in Ambassadors list/Fedora Planet to get those information, so we can compare the CDs we send/found with the reports people give. It could seems confusing, but this system help the event owner and who use this numbers (see FAmSCo, Community Architecture, etc...).

Indeed - we should add a field to the Events and Archived Events page to denote money and media and swag handed out - that would be tremendously useful for future planning.

Right, we need one. We have a public page with global events total expense but, as i know, we haven't a page with all pasts quarter outcomes. We have, moreover, a page for the past events (see http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraEvents/PastEvents), we could repeat something similar. Thanks!

This is an issue that FAMSCo should take up at their next meeting -- setting some guidelines for media production. The budget will be the biggest factor in the number of pieces of media available at an event. Therefore FAMSCo should be thinking about what portion of the money is sensible to spend on media for events.

Yes,
It is always good to recognize a work done by the community people. Even if it is small contribution of CD / DVD or other monitory terms should be recognize.
But need to check properly , and it a duty of Ambassadors.
