Top Posting Because I am a Bad Person:



Zamir and Tong (and others who haven't spoke up yet) this is fantastic.


I'd like us to consider three ideas.  These are not set in stone and
they are not the only ones.


1) Can you all, as locals, come up with a list of topics based on the
   CFP that you think the audience would like to hear?  Ideally those
   topics will be about things related to Fedora.  I'd love to start
   looking for speakers we can get to submit to the CFP soon.  Would
   modularity be a good thing?


2) Do we have enough of a Fedora presence in China to man a booth?  In
   EMEA (and I believe NA) we get a table for free from the Linux
   Foundation.  I can contact them for it.  I would like to know if this
   is something you all would feel comfortable with taking to
   Ambassadors APAC and serving as an event owner for.


3) I will be at the event and Red Hat's community team will be there
   representing all of our upstream projects.  I'd also like us to
   consider partnering with the larger community effort (think Gluster,
   Ceph, Manage IP, CentOS, Atomic, etc.) and sharing a booth.  This way
   we can benefit from joining with other "brands" and sharing our
   "brand" strength.  We may also be able to get the community team to
   pay for things like a TV to do booth demos on :)


Let's set up a time to talk.  IRC?  I am ok with being awake at a China
timezone appropriate time.  Can you all help me figure out a good time
to meet?  It appears that the Chinese Ambassadors have a meeting today,
so I'll try to drop in.

Thanks for the reminder.  I used to do an annual conference in China in
March and this was our planning period - in the middle of the festival.
I guess old habits die hard :)
