FUDCon Milan 2011, info ?

Hi,

I am planning to come to the FUDCon in Milan and after booking my plan
tickets I would like to book my hotel.

There are three hotels listed on the wiki page [1], but I have two
remarks:
- The following not has been added on July 12th [2]:

The hotels listed below are the suggested hotels, but we have not yet
arranged for any special Fedora group rates at these hotels.  We hope to
have group rates for at least one of these hotels in the next week or
two.
"""
Is there any news on this ?

- When I checked the price for the first hotel in the list, I end up
with ~80€/night, which is pretty much the double of the price indicated
on the wiki so, either the wiki consider a double room occupied by 2
person who split the price (and therefore indicated half of the price
without mentioning it), or I have missed something.


Could anyone en-light me ?

Hey Pierre-Yves,

Ask the FUDCon's Planning Team for the Conference's hotel, is the one they
said to me they will book and probably most of the attendees will be there
too.

The FUDCon planning team mainly consists of Francesco and he is very
busy. I already asked him the same question last week and got no
response yet.

So the question for me becomes: How can we support the FUDCon planing?
We have enough people, but only a few locals. What about all the Italian
ambassadors who promised their support in the bid? Can any of them help
us?

Yeah, he is very busy. I could not follow the weekly Italian meetings
(time is not very good for me, plus it's done on webex and my PC does
not work with it) but I think he has a very capable team at his
company devoted to ironing details.

I think the best one can do if willing to help is joining the fudcon
planning mailing list and the Friday IRC meeting with Francesco, Jared
and others from the Fedora side

I know the reference document for the status of the organization is this one:

If I read correctly the page, the conference will be held at the
university not in a hotel.
