hi,
We just got this response at #fedora.
< alison_chaiken> Aha, kbrosnan, just one page, but you must choose it from the drop-down! Thanks.
Is there a reason why there's a drop down that needs to be selected for the Ambassadors map[1] to show? (Are there more maps to be added?). It would be better if the map just showed up IMO.

My initial plan was to make for available for all the groups. I had a test instance running on publictest15 too. But there were "the usual" lack of response and I didn't find it worth pursuing anymore. Here is the code, feel free to extend.

hi Susmit,
Unfortunately, this is not my cup of tea.
Could you please just remove the drop down and directly show the ambassadors map? Whenever you have the time?
Could you please just remove the drop down and directly show the ambassadors map?
Of course not. It is there in case someone be interested to extend it in future. Thanks.

You can show a full page by default and still have the dropdown to allow people to switch from the default. this is a fine design pattern to follow. Check out:

We place folks on the APAC page first, and if they want to click to a different region they can easily.
We did this rather than have a splash page that 100% of users have to click through to get to where they really want to go. Since we go ahead and show APAC to start:
- the % of users who wanted APAC info get it right away, so we save that group an extra click
- the % of users who didn't necessarily want APAC and might not even know what the page is about can see right away what kind of information they can find there without clicking through a splash

And until someone decides to extend it?
It shows a blank page with only a drop down box you know?

Yes, I know. But won't do it. Sorry. If I get some time to redo it as Mairin said, I will. Thanks.
