Using Fedora Calendar to promote events

Hello Ambassadors,

I'm Alberto from the Marketing team, I'm asking for help to encourauge
the use of Fedora Calendar[1] to publish our events.

The main idea is collect the events and write a Fedora Magazine[2]
entry about the upcoming events. we hope this increases the visibility
of our events.

I strongly encourage us to adopt a process of putting events on this
calendar.  This creates a feed we can use for marketing and helps us all
help event owners be more succesful.  This will also raise our event
visibility.

What do others think?

represents Fedora in any way (i.e. a booth or a talk) are also fine?

I meant to be inclusive of events we sponsor, events we attend, and events
where their are Fedora related activities we want to promote (like a talk).

This is a great idea. A unified calendar, either global or by region,
would be really helpful for communicating events. Ideally we could
have it display in a widget on the CommOps blog and Fedora Magazine
sites, etc. That doesn't preclude posting events on LWN, the
Opensource.com calendar, etc.

[Eduard Lucena]

We had this idea in marketing [1] and is waiting for me to create a
commblog post with a guide to use fedocal. Also, for the widget, fedocal
can be query, but still need to test it, I think it returns a JSON file.
Hopefully I will be able to finish the post today and make some tests
tomorrow.
