Hi all,
Happy to see the APAC meeting minutes, thanks all who attended. Sometime last year, I had submitted a PR to reorganize the regional Ambassador meeting that show up on this page…
https://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/browse/
…towards the bottom, underneath "Ambassadors". It was correctly noted in the meeting that in order for logs to show correctly, the same #meetingname has to be used in every meeting. This will group all of the same meetings together in Meetbot and help make them easier to find.
When I submitted the PR to Meetbot last year, I was unable to find a consistent meeting name for APAC. However, now that meetings are starting again, is there an agreed-on meeting name to be used for future meetings? If so, I would be more than willing to add a PR so that the APAC meeting minutes will show up on the page linked above. I just need to know what the meeting name will be. :)
Also, for other helpful tips, feel free to check out this IRC meeting guide page:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Meeting:Guide
You can find a breakdown of tips for running effective meetings and also learn what all of the Meetbot commands are.
Thanks all!

We did discuss this in the meeting today. Earlier, the default name set by zodbot were not placed replaced using the #meetingname command and that lead to a lot of mess.
When I submitted the PR to Meetbot last year, I was unable to find a consistent meeting name for APAC. However, now that meetings are starting again, is there an agreed-on meeting name to be used for future meetings? I think we'll be having the meetingname as 'apac' from now on. jwf++ for taking it up.

Awesome. Done!
https://github.com/fedora-infra/mote/pull/118
Just be sure to always run '#meetingname apac' at the beginning of a meeting, and once this is merged in and pushed, all future meetings will appear under the Meetbot teams page.

And to follow up here, APAC meetings are now showing up here, huzzah! :)
https://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/browse/
https://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/sresults/?group_id=apac&type=team
Again, just to emphasize (this might be helpful to document somewhere in APAC meeting guidelines), your meetings will **only** show up here if you use…
#meetingname apac
…during the IRC meeting. You can do "#startmeeting APAC Fedora Ambassadors" or anything you like to start the meeting (that's like the "friendly" human-readable name, does not have to be consistent). But the #meetingname is like the "internal" name that Meetbot uses to sort and categorize meetings. So just make sure to run this once during the meeting so they all get grouped together accordingly. :)
Thanks all!

If you're in a PR writing mood, it'd be great if meetbot could do more of this on its own without relying on this being a manual human process.

Just curious about what you mean – is this about how the meetings are handled during a meeting or how they're handled / processed afterwards? One would fall under upstream MeetBot (not sure how much we room we have to bake our own custom MeetBot plugin into zodbot), and the latter would be with Møte.

Just trying to understand your idea and see if it is something we can try to handle better. :)

Without tearing into the code, I can only point out that it would be nice if the mote interface made it easier to find meetings by date, time, room, and group. It should be smart enough to some filtering, imho.
But no one has time for this :)

In the meanwhile, you can always file an issue with an idea so if we get around to a feature refactor, it'll be on the table.

"APAC Ambassador's meeting" should be okay IMO.
