FUDCon APAC: Emergency meeting

Hey folks,

** ATTENTION AMBASSADORS ** 
If you haven't already, please read Robyn's mail to the fudcon-planning
list[1] stressing that the APAC FUDCon will need to be deferred to next
year if a decision is not made quickly. It makes perfect sense, since
the period for FUDCon APAC is March 1 - May 31, which is almost upon us,
leaving us hardly any time to organize the event. 

We'd like to call an emergency meeting tomorrow at 0400UTC (Sunday, 26th
February 0400UTC at #fedora-meeting) with only one agenda in mind: "Make
a concrete recommendation to FAmSCo on FUDCon APAC". If we fail to
decide on a location, the default recommendation is "Defer to 2013
cycle".

If you are the owner of one of the bids[3],[4],[5], it is imperative you
attend this meeting to market your bid. Please do also go through your
bid pages and add all the information you can, up to date.

I've also created a wiki page here[2] that you can use to submit your
recommendations. Please try to attend the meeting, if you cannot, you
are welcome to make a recommendation on the list here or to use the
wiki. 

All of this should've been done much earlier, but it still isn't too
late. Please try to have your recommendations in by 26th Feb 2359UTC

Hello.

As I might not be available, and if an external opinion may be worth, let
me just drop what I see are some pro-cons for each (or some)


= Malaysia =
* Interesting information about estimated budget
* Even if there are 20 contributors on the list, only 3 have a wiki page.
Do they have the time to contribute really hard since dates is all over us?
* I would like to see hotel information on USD as well, to have an idea
* The venue: APIIT - vill it be free? are there any charges?
* do Malaysia needs visa?

= Beijing =
* Is there a free option for a venue?
* China needs visa, so that might be an issue if event is too soon
* I only see 3 contributors, is there more people helping you? I see 9
people on the atendees lists, are they part of the team as well?
* Local RH office

= Philippines =
* I like that you have to dates, and one is in august (on my bday :D ),
however, could the other bids also adjust to this dates too, just in case?
* are the 2 proposed venues free or have any charge?
* Doesn't require a visa which is good.
* Extra sponsorship confirmed besides RH


Ok, these are the things I would look through, would be nice to know if
there are any aditional sponsors already willing to help. Hope my short
notes can help a bit.

Hi,

I have just read the log. As I have been attending APAC meetings from time to time, the
statement of "CN team has not attended any APAC meetings" isn't fully
accurate. Also, "CN" should not be used to address Chinese community because
"CN" refer to China as country. Though I am not from China, there have been
Chinese-language community participate in the meetings.

Tuanta has supplied the previous and above logs to the FAmSCo trac ticket. So, I look
forward to the topic will be discussed again in next FAmSCo meeting this coming
Wednesday.

Hello Ankur and Tuan,

Thanks for responding this matter. I am sorry I was away home enjoying
a three days vacation.
You folks have managed that well. I have went though the logs and
updated the wiki as well.
Will wait for the FAmSCo's decision.
