Hello, fellow Ambassadors,
The other day, I tried contacting Red Hat México; since I am a mexican Ambassador.
I'd like to ask your opinion on what to expect from Red Hat locally and what kind of a relationship should we encourage.
They seemed very surprised by my "first contact" email...
It's hard to be free... but I love to struggle. Love isn't asked for; it's just given. Respect isn't asked for; it's earned! Renich Bon Ciric

based on the experiences I made in the past; You may expect support from RedHat regionally if your lucky and find a RedHat person, whos actively involved in the Fedora community (in your region).
On a global scope; The official statement is, RedHat is funding Fedora Project.
RedHat installed Fedoras governance model and if you adhere the "chain of command" you will receive support. In our situation, this means opening a request on the FAmSCo tracker.

Generally speaking, you need not contact RedHat for ambassadorial tasks.
Please let us know what you need. Since you are from NA, you can also contact David (ke4qq@fedoraproject.org), or open a ticket with FAmSCo or NA trac as pointed out by Sascha.
Also have a look:

Hope this helps.

I spoke with a person from Red Hat Mexico during the Red Hat Summit who stopped by the Fedora booth. I am sorry I don't recall who it was but I might be able to find out. He initiated the discussion and it actually was about this very topic, how Red Hat Mexico can begin to help Fedora and ambassadors in Mexico! There is definitely somone there who wants to help.
I'll try to locate the contact.
John
@Everyone
Thank you for all the tips and suggestions. I wanted to contact RedHat México in order to propose a project for promoting Fedora locally (In Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mëxico).
I think it's easier to find sponsors there so we can carry out a 3 phase promotional project. I'd like to develop it a bit more and present it to you via the Fedora wiki, so you can suggest a better course of action.
Anyway, thanks for the great tips and all.

Dear Renich,

Hello Renich,
From Red Hat Latam, you can expect nothing from the local offices.
The local offices has sales focus only.
If you need some support, contact FAMSCO or Max Spevack.
Great part of the local employees are not involved in Fedora or know what a heck Fedora Project is or how it works.
Best regards!

According to what John Rose just reported about his experience at the Red Hat Summit, there is awareness in Mexico City, we just need to make the right connections. I'm trying to help John with that right now, as a matter of fact.

Please, keep me posted. I'm interested for some strategic planning and possible sponsorship.
I've made contact about two months ago with Santos Martinez and Rolando Cedillo from RH Mexico who -as Rodrigo states- are focused on sales forces. Nevertheless, they told me that the mexican office was growing importantly and they have plans to get more involved with the community. As far as I know, there's this girl named Veronica from marketing who is going to attend the community related issues.
Please keep in mind that this regional office is starting operations (they've even moved to a new -better- location) and it might take a while until they develop capabilities to fully support the communty, but I guess it would hurt if you call them, introduce yourself and ask them how are they doin'
