Accepted speakers confirmation: 4 June 2018
Conference Dates: 4, 5 August, 2018, Bengaluru, India
We invite you to submit a proposal to speak at DevConf.in 2018. This
is the second DevConf.in conference where free and open source
software communities and developers meet, learn, and hack on FOSS
projects. DevConf.in 2018 is organised and sponsored by Red Hat.
We are looking for speakers from all types of roles, including
developers, administrators, engineers, DevOps practitioners, quality
engineers, technical writers, project managers, and more.
Each speaker while submitting the proposal is requested to choose a
theme that the talk/workshop belongs to. Few of the themes for this
year are
- Linux
- Middleware
- Virtualization
- Storage
- Cloud and mobile technologies
- Containers
- And much more.
You can find the full list of suggested themes in the CFP form.
We are looking for both advanced and introductory talks and workshops.
On the second day of the conference, Sunday 5 August 2018, we will be
running a track of workshops, including those at an introductory
level. We have the benefit of having a mixed audience of professionals
and students and we don’t want to leave anyone out.
If you’re interested in submitting multiple talks, please try to limit
your suggestions to your best ideas.

[ambassadors-apac] Issue #276: Split APAC Treasurer and Credit Card Holder
Roles
by Brian Exelbierd (bex)
bex added a new comment to an issue you are following:
``
In the time since this ticket has been open, the following has happened.
@izhar has decided to step back and let others take over the day-to-day work. I remain grateful and appreciative of his work and look forward to continuing to work with him in the project in whatever capacity he desires.
@pjp has stepped up to do the treasurer's work. This is maintaining the budget entries and this kind of administrative work. It does not have a unilateral veto power.
@woohuiren has offerred to take over as card holder. This position involves paying reimbursements/expenses that are approved by the region and supported by receipts. This position does not have a unilateral veto.
No one else has stepped forward to offer to take these roles. It isn't clear to me what we need to do to bless this, so I am going to suggest we move forward with lazy consensus. If I am not mistaken there is an APAC meeting tomorrow. I suggest we discuss this ticket there, vote and then leave voting open for one week. Barring objection, I'll work with RH to get @woohuiren a card (or determine if there is a blocker) and with both of them to learn how to use the budget system.
