kernel-3.11.0-0.rc4.git1.1.fc20
by Paul Whalen
Kernel testers and ARM enthusiasts,
After a few 3.11 kernel builds that booted to "Starting Kernel ... ' with no further output
kernel-3.11.0-0.rc4.git1.1.fc20[1] is mostly working. Kyle McMartin was able to locate why it
stopped booting and the fix[2] which is included in 3.11.0-0.rc4.git1.1 .
Good news - it wasn't ARM.
This should allow us to start testing the nightly rawhide images. Below is the current status of
our supported hardware platforms with kernel-3.11.0-0.rc4.git1.1.fc20.
Versatile Express (Qemu) - boots but hangs at 'Reached target Graphical Interface' when using
graphical.
Trimslice - boots with graphics. Networking not available.
Pandaboard - Fails to boot, no output past "Starting kernel ...'
Highbank - no issues reported.

I'm pleased to announce the availability of Fedora 19 for the 2012 Samsung
Chromebook featuring ARM Exynos dual core A15 processor.
The initial release is based on MATE desktop environment.
Expect to see KDE, XFCE, LXDE, and SUGAR to land in the next few days.
Exact steps:
(assume the sdcard is /dev/sdz)
# fetch the remix image
wget http://parasense.fedorapeople.org/f19-chromebook-MATE.img.xz
# write the image to sdcard
sudo xzcat f19-chromebook-MATE.img.xz > /dev/sdz
# resize the rootfs partition
sudo sgdisk -p -a8192 -e -d5 -n5:0:0 -t5:8300 -c5:'ROOTFS' -p /dev/sdz
# resize the rootfs ext4 filesystem
sudo e2fsck -f /dev/sdz5
sudo resize2fs /dev/sdz5
#THE END

pandoc build failing oddly on Rawhide
by Adam Williamson
Hi, folks. One of the packages that needs rebuilding for a recent soname
bump in Rawhide is 'pandoc'. I've tried to build it twice. It goes
through fine on i686 and x86_64, but fails - after a very long time - on
arm. Here's the log:
http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//work/tasks/7583/5787583/build.log
It sits at:
[ 8 of 45] Compiling Text.Pandoc.Pretty ( src/Text/Pandoc/Pretty.hs,
dist/build/Text/Pandoc/Pretty.o )
for a very long time before the "terminate called after throwing an
instance of 'std::bad_alloc'" stuff shows up.
Anyone have any idea what's going wrong?
