Conitinuing testing on my Cubietruck.
I was switched away from the Cubietruck on my KVM for a while. Came
back to of course a blank screen. No response to mouse of keyboard
actions. No coming out of screensave mode.
I unplugged the KVM USB and plugged in a real keyboard. No messages in
the log about the keyboard, and no response on the screen.
I unplugged the keyboard and replugged the KVM. Got messages on the
console about this:

But still no response.
Rebooted from the serial console and eventually the video showed the
login in screen. No keyboard response. Unplugged the KVM and attached
a keyboard, still no response. Reversed to KVM and nothing.
Powered off from the serial console and repowered up. Now the KVM
keyboard responded and I could log in.
I have turned off the screensaver for now.
I experienced a similar problem with screensaver when I ran the F19-Xfce
remix on my Cubies. Even with a direct connected kybd, I could not get
a response once it went into screensaver, and I had to disable screensaver.
Of course F21 does not have video support for Allwinner, so did not get
to test this during the F21 development.
I keep seeing this in all the builds:
Jan 1 00:00:26 cubiet kernel: bridge: automatic filtering via
arp/ip/ip6tables has been deprecated. Update your scripts to load
br_netfilter if you need this.
I of course ignore it, but is this going to be changed at some point?

I am recognizing more things being off on the color than just Firefox menus.
The system tray has many things off. The tray itself is white rather
than grey that I have on my F21-x86-Xfce notebook. The NetworkManager
icon is black fill rather than grey (or is it off-blue?).
The Trash desktop icon is white/grey rather than shades of blue.
I looked on Setting > Appearance and everything is set the same as on my
Oh, and no Sensor plugin in Xfce.
I suspect Hans knows this, but I finally got around to plugging my
TP-Link TL-WN722N USB adapter into my Cubieboard with Rawhide.
The USB device is not being recognize. No messages on the console about
Good thing I have extensive ethernet available here for testing....
firstboot on the Cubietruck had a login prompt on the serial console and
the config panel on the video. I left the passwords blank and jsut used
passwd in a terminal window to set things for now. I have to figure out
what is considered a 'strong' password these days...
No WiFi, but from Hans' messages I was expecting that. At least the
WiFi and BT LEDs are off (not the case in earlier uboots).
Same video size issue and white oversized fonts in Firefox. This is all
the testing for now. At least I have some systems up on Rawhide for
Let me know if there is something specific you want me to test on either
of these boxes.
Well back to some testing.
I don't like the strict enforcement of password strength. I guess I
will have to come up with new passwords that are not just moderately
Video is working on the Cubieboard2! Thanks all (particularly Hans).
Firstboot was strange. The first time, I did not have the video
connected properly and the serial console went right to the login. I got
the serial console working, messed up the passwords but did get in. So
I decided to redo the SD card and try again. This time I had the video
properly connected. The serial console presented me with the
configuration choices. Once I got through that (and worked around the
password fun for now), the video went right to the login. No
configuration setup on the monitor. What decides which way this goes?
Also the setting > display says 1024x768, but everything looks to be
larger (and thus less on the Xfce system tray) than my F21-x86 notebook
that is also using Xfce. And 1024x768 is the only option.
But on to Firefox which I installed via 'yum install firefox'.
I press <alt> to get the menu, but it shows up white on my monitor.
Rather hard to read! If I mouse over a choice, it changes to black, so
I was able to get into preferences, which was white, but able at least
change to startup with a blank screen.
I then connected to my comcast gateway (netgear). The fonts are wrong
sized. Values in fields are too large a font to show. I have no
trouble with these screens on my F20 x86 system I normally use to work
with the gateway.
That is all for now. Just completed building an SD card for the
Cubietruck to test with that.
I know that there have been versions of Fedora released for the RaspberryPi
in the past, Pidora being the most prominent to my knowledge. Is there a
way to install the latest Fedora21 ARM release to my new RPI2? I'm reading
about u-boot things and it's all a little beyond me. Google hasn't provided
any useful information either so I came here...
Thanks in advance, apologies if I've asked on the incorrect mailing list,
