Subject: [fedora-arm] WiFi Setup on Fedora 18 Raspi Remix
Hey all,
I installed the latest (beta-2) image from
http://scotland.proximity.on.ca/arm-nightlies/vault/f18-alpha-rpi-remix/.
It boots great
and the display is great over HDMI and also detects all of my 512 MB
RAM. Also the animated Raspi logo looks great.
I wanted to configure WiFi using a USB wireless dongle. First, I
wanted to look for the iw* tools, but
saw that the wireless-tools package is not shipped in the image. Fair
enough.
Okay, my bad. I realized that 'iw' is available out of the box. So I can use that
instead.
So, I tried to use the nm-applet for configuring it. It shows all the
wireless networks available, but
when I want to set it up, it gives an error saying that the user is
not authorized (or something in that vain).
I tried both as a non-root and normal user with the same result.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Amit.
