Greetings!

As you may be aware, the Community Platform Engineering (CPE) team is
working on reducing our workload. One of the applications we have
identified that we can no longer support is the Fedora Badges app.
Fortunately, The fine folks in the To and CC lines of this e-mail have
volunteered to take over the application[0].

CPE has discussed how long we are willing to support the existing
deployment while the replacement application is developed, and we have
agreed to support it until January 31, 2020. If the replacement is not
running by that time, we will shut down the current badges deployment
on that date.

If it is not feasible to complete the replacement by then, and you wish
to avoid an outage, we can hand off maintenance of the existing
application to you and work with you to migrate it into
Communishift[1]. If you wish to pursue this route, note that this would
also need to happen by January 31.

Let me know if you would like to take over the existing deployment, and
best wishes from all of us on the CPE team.

Hi Randy,

Yes, best bet for us is to have hand on the running instances which lead me to the following question: what about data - legal - policy regarding this application (registered badges and person, related badges award, etc)?

Cheers,

P.S. I am personally a huge fan of badges, and so I am thrilled that we
have volunteers to keep it going. I'm obsessed with getting more
badges, and I look forward to seeing how the new application works out!
