I'm facing problem with the k42f model asus laptop of mine. It's been operated by fedora 14 and I can't use the onboard microphone. It also has a combo jack on both input and output and it produce no result as well.

And in addition, I'd like to know what's the KDE equivalent of "Sound Recorder" on win7? Tried krecords but it requires kdelibs3. I ain't gonna install that old app.

Any help would be nice.
