Alien

[Junayeed Ahnaf Nirjhor]

Hello,

Having trouble installing alien. Followed this: 
http://content.hccfl.edu/pollock/AUnix1/alien/

Now thing is like this:

[Nirjhor@localhost ~]$ cd Downloads/
[Nirjhor@localhost Downloads]$ ls
alien              alien-extra.rpm         
alien_8.78.tar.gz  deb-1.10.27-3.i586.rpm  html2text-1.3.2a-3.i586.rpm
[Nirjhor@localhost Downloads]$ rpm -q alien
package alien is not installed

I have installed html2text normally and alien forcefully. Also alien-extra 
forcefully. I also have perl installed. Now problem is this:

[root@localhost alien]# perl Makefile.PL
Can't locate ExtUtils/MakeMaker.pm in @INC (@INC contains: 
/usr/local/lib/perl5 /usr/local/share/perl5 /usr/local/share/perl5 
/usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl5 
/usr/share/perl5 /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0/i386-linux-thread-multi 
/usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0/i386-
linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl .) at 
Makefile.PL line 2.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at Makefile.PL line 2.
[root@localhost alien]#

Any help? Anyone?

u need the perl module. try this and then install the RPM.
yum whatprovides 'perl(ExtUtils::MakeMaker)'
