Re: Apache Mahout, Hadoop’s original machine learning project, is moving on from MapReduce

Were on this, "like white on rice": https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/bigdata/packaging ;-)
IMHO it was only a matter of time, but the question I have is, "Whether mllib will usurp?"

Bug 1076506 – Review Request: ambari - Hadoop cluster manager
by Peter MacKinnon
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1076506
Here is the Ambari review if anyone is feeling adventurous. I have yet
been able to get a HDP agent for Centos or RHEL completely configured
and installed. This appears to have nothing to do with the Ambari server
in the package (Fedora) and everything to do with the so-called 2.0.3
stack the agent tries to use from the Hortonworks repos.
Perhaps Trevor, Chad or Erin have some insights?
\Pete

Spark 0.9.1-rc1
by Will Benton
Gang, I've rebased the patches for our Spark package atop the first prerelease for 0.9.1. This version will be the default in rawhide as soon as the non-scratch build finishes, so if you experience trouble, please let me know.
The latest package also includes the upstream-parity fixes in the previous one I cut: mesos and stream-lib are now compiled in since they are available now.
best,
wb
