The HekaFS maintainers were looking for a appropriate group for their
package. I was thinking that perhaps having a 'cloud infrastructure'
or 'cloud support' group might be the best place, but we don't have
one of those, and I'm not sure what all packages should be in it.
Would someone fom the Cloud SIG like to take a stab at it?
Thanks,
Bill
Hello Cloud,
to begin to contribute some synthetic howto documentation about
BoxGrinder in the official Fedora wiki I've created :
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BoxGrinder
where i'm putting step by step my tests and work on creating appliances.
Sharing the appliances recipes on fedorapeople.org could also be a
nice way to have a copy of github repository on Fedora infrastructure.
It should finish soon to build the BoxGrinder MetaAppliance for VMware
ESX but it just failed when i was writing this :(
Here is the bug report :
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/BGBUILD-309
So i will retry on Fedora 15 and will also try to build Fedora 16 on
Fedora 16 to avoid mixing versions of GRUB.
Have a good day.
Hi folks,
I'll be out friday (FUDCon!) - and am hoping that someone else might be
able to wrangle the meeting. Any volunteers? :D

Hello,
Today i was in "OpenStack in Action" event in Paris with a lot of the
OpenStack ecosystem.
Is there already a test day planned for OpenStack in Fedora 16 ?
I've seen on the feature wiki page that there is already a QuickStart guide
to test it but i wanted to ask if I should wait for testday to test it or if
i can test it now.
If it works well for me, i will plan to do a workshop about it french Fedora
16 release party.
Thank you in advance for your advice.
Good news, everyone! (Cue your favorite Professor Farnsworth from
Futurama clip here...)
Dennis has got EC2 images working with koji and functioning and
log-in-able. Thanks to Dennis, to Garrett Holmstrom for getting
cloud-init going with systemd (which is enabling this magic), and other
folks like Jay Greguske, Marek Goldmann, and Justin Forbes for helping
out along the way in this process. If anyone ever tell you that there is
not gold at the end of the rainbow, POINT THEM TO THIS THREAD.
Meeting minutes below. Thanks for coming!

The day has flown by. Sorry for lack of reminder...
We'll be in #fedora-meeting on irc.freenode.net for the weekly Cloud SIG
meeting at noon pacific, 3pm eastern, and i recollect that that
translates to 19:00 UTC.
See you there!

Hello, Cloud folks --
I figured I'd give a little plug here to something going on today...
namely that PuppetConf is going on, and you can sign up for live
streaming of sessions. And it just so happens that we have some people
from cloud-land presenting there.
http://puppetconf.com/register/ (it's free)
http://puppetconf.com/puppetconf-2011-schedule/
David Lutterkort (aka: lutter) is presenting on Aeolus at 4pm pacific
time, and David Nalley (aka: ke4qqq) is talking about ops in the cloud
at 10:00am.

All,
I'm pleased to announce release 0.7.0 of Oz. Oz is a program for doing
automated installation of guest operating systems with limited input from
the user.
Release 0.7.0 is a bugfix and feature release for Oz. Some of the
highlights between Oz 0.6.0 and 0.7.0 are:
- Ability to use the "direct initrd injection" method to install Fedora/RHEL
guests. This is an internal implementation detail, but can significantly speed
up installs for Fedora or RHEL guests. (thanks for the tip from
Kashyap Chamarthy)
- Support for Fedora-16 (thanks to Steve Dake for help in making this work)
- Use the serial port to announce guest boot, rather than a network port. This
makes it so we no longer have to manipulate iptables, and gets us one step
closer to having Oz run as non-root
- (for developers) Re-written unittests in python for speedier execution
- (for developers) Additional methods in the TDL class to merge in external
package lists (thanks to Ian McLeod)
A tarball of this release is available, as well as packages for Fedora-14,
Fedora-15, and RHEL-6. Note that to install the RHEL-6 packages, you must be
running RHEL-6.1 or later. Instructions on how to get and use Oz are available
at http://aeolusproject.org/oz.html
If you have any questions or comments about Oz, please feel free to contact
aeolus-devel(a)lists.fedorahosted.org or me (clalance(a)redhat.com) directly.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this release through bug reports,
patches, and suggestions for improvement.
