atomic / cloud / docker screenshots (kinda urgent)
by Matthew Miller
I know it's harder to take pictures of Fedora Cloud, but maybe we could
provide some of the web interfaces for openstack with Fedora Cloud
running, and maybe a terminal window showing launching something from
the Fedora Dockerfiles in Atomic from the command line?
I'm starting to get press inquiries, so it'd be nice to have these
added to
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/F21_screenshots_library
today and tomorrow, if anyone is up for the challenge.

current shell's bash history lost on reboot
by Dusty Mabe
The other day during the Atomic Test Day jzb and I noticed that we
were losing bash history (seemingly randomly). Today I dug into it a
bit more. If you reboot a machine from a bash session then you will
lose all of your history for that session. Note the following is from
the F21 Cloud image:
[root@f21 ~]# cat .bash_history | wc -l
2
[root@f21 ~]# history | wc -l
123
[root@f21 ~]# reboot

Has anyone else seen this? Is there an existing bug report?
If you guys can confirm you are having this behavior then I will open
a report. Alos please see [1] [2] where suse was having a similar problem.

oddshocks in Raleigh for FAD Dec 3-9
by David Gay
Hi all,
Sorry that I wasn't able to attend the WG meeting yesterday -- I was on a flight to Raleigh. I'm at Red Hat Tower for a MirrorManager 2 / Infrastructure FAD. I'll be here until the 9th. I should be in IRC as normal for most of the time. We hope to do some work on Fedimg during this time, as well.

Fedora 21 Final Release Candidate 5 (RC5) Available Now!
by Adam Williamson
NOTE: Signing of the RC5 checksums is not yet complete. To be sure we're
testing the right bits we should remember to check that the images we
test match the signed checksum files once they're available, and of
course you can carefully check the TLS certificate of the server when
downloading the images. fedup tests may require the --nogpgcheck
parameter until the signed .treeinfo file is available. releng will
update and close the trac ticket when signing is complete.
As per the Fedora 21 schedule [1], Fedora 21 Final Release Candidate 5
(RC5) is now available for testing.
The difference between RC5 and RC4 is that the changes to python-blivet
and pyparted that were introduced in RC1 to fix bug #1166598 have been
reverted, as they were found to cause more serious problems than they
fixed. As this change affects the installer, all installation validation
tests should be run again. Existing RC4 test results for
post-installation tests will be considered valid and transferred into
the RC5 result pages; from now on, please do all testing with RC5
images.
Please see the following pages for download links (including delta ISOs)
and testing instructions. Normally dl.fedoraproject.org should provide
the fastest download, but download-ib01.fedoraproject.org is available
as a mirror (with an approximately 1 hour lag) in case of trouble. To
use it, just replace "dl" with "download-ib01" in the download URL.

Fedora 21 Docker Base Image Text
by Joe Brockmeier
Thoughts, comments, flames?
for this page:
http://spins.stg.fedoraproject.org/docker/
Fedora 21 Docker Base Image
The Fedora Docker Base Image provides a minimal Fedora-based image
that can be used to launch a Fedora Docker container. A container
is a version of the operating system running as a process on another
system, giving you the benefit of process isolation, higher application
density, and the ability to easily move applications from development
to production with zero modification.
The Fedora Docker Base Image contains just the basics that you need
to have a foundation for building Docker layered images. You have the
bare essentials and nothing more -- to provide full flexibility in
creating your applications.

Whoops, sorry if that ended up stuck in my court. The board basically
came back with "sure, as long as there's actually people eager to
participate", and _that_ came back with people saying "yeah, we're
vaguely interested, but what does it mean, exactly"?
And that's where we are. :)
