The Fedora 44 schedule [1] is winding up, and it's time we started
thinking about what we'd want to have test days for. There are several
changes accepted already for F44, and the window for proposals is still
open so more may come. You can find the list of accepted Changes here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/44/ChangeSet
Please take some time and look through the list and see if there's
anything you'd be interested in testing - or if there's something you
think should get some testing that isn't in the ChangeSet!
For those of you not familiar with them, test days are online events
aimed at testing a specific feature of an upcoming Fedora release. We
organize the event in a ticket, provide a Wiki page with instructions,
and have a page on the testdays webapp [2] for reporting results.
During the event, folks can compare notes and ask for help in the
Matrix chat room [3]. Anyone can request to host test days or request
that the QA team help you out with organizing. Test days can be run for
any feature or area of a distribution that focused testing would be
useful for. We use the name "test days" as it's been around for a
while, but many events run for more than a single day, now, to allow
more time for folks to test. More information on test days can be found
in the wiki [4].
To propose a test day, file a ticket on Pagure (for now):
https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/new_issue
You can look at existing issues with the test day tag [5] to get an
idea how the ticket can look; please include details on what topic you
want to cover, and an idea of what dates you would like to hold it. You
can also look at the SOP for hosting a test day [6].
If you have any questions about test days or the process, please don't
hesitate to contact me or any other Quality team member on Matrix [3]
or respond on the test list.
Thanks and happy testing!

Hey folks! I've just filed a ticket about the download page not (IMHO)
clearly presenting our blocking images as more prominent and supported
than our non-blocking images:
https://gitlab.com/fedora/websites-apps/fedora-websites/fedora-websites-3.0…
Usually I'd CC a bunch of relevant folks, but since almost nothing else
Fedora-y is on gitlab.com, I don't have the relevant IDs handy, so I'm
mailing the lists instead to make sure folks are aware and can chime
in.

Hello,
the first F43 Beta RC is here, and we need to make sure it works well. The
Go/NoGo meeting is happening tomorrow [1].
All important information and links are in this announcement:
https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/test-announce@lists.fedorapro…
The test coverage tool is important, it can show what was tested fairly
recently, or not in a long time, so that people can focus their attention
the right way. It has sections related to particular editions (Desktop,
Server, Cloud) and general sections (Installation - which is not just
Anaconda, but also e.g. upgrades; and Base system functionality).
Available automation (coconut, anaconda-bot) tries to populate many fields,
but it doesn't have full coverage. Please focus on empty fields. For Beta,
ideally all Basic and Beta test cases should be marked as passing. Testing
Final test cases is optional at this point, but very appreciated.
The linked BlockerBugs website [2] displays current blockers and freeze
exceptions bugs. Any help debugging, fixing and verifying those is very
welcome. If you've found a new bug, please add it to the wiki matrix (if it
corresponds to one of the test cases), and you can also propose it as a
blocker using the same BlockerBugs tool (if you find it really important,
or you find it violating some of release criteria - the tool will guide
you).
With any questions, please reach out [3].
Thank you!
Kamil Paral
