Ticket #132
by Ronald J. Yacketta
While setting up a new cobbler server this afternoon I found myself
wondering why default_virt_path and others were not in settings. Went
back to trac to see the status of the ticket I created eons ago to find
it is a RFE that was last updated '1 year ago'
Any chance of dusting this off and seeing if it is still worthwhile to
put into a near future release of cobbler?

Ron

Disable prompt for registration number when using build iso and RHEL
by Matthew Delves
Hey folks,
Is it possible (and if so, how) to disable the prompt for a registration number when using the build iso to install a new RHEL server. I currently have it registering against a local Satellite Server for registration so having this prompt is inconvenient as it adds a manual step into the otherwise automated process.
Thanks,
Matt.

issue with custom snippet in kickstart template
by Matthew Delves
Hey Folks,
I keep getting this error when I call a custom snippet from within a kickstart template:
# Register against puppet
$SNIPPET('puppet')
/tmp/ks-script-Ieh1jy: line 60: syntax error near unexpected token `'puppet''
/tmp/ks-script-Ieh1jy: line 60: `$SNIPPET('puppet')'
Any help in getting this sorted out would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt.

kickstart templates and registration against RHN / Satellite Server
by Matthew Delves
Hey Folks,
I seem to be having an issue with the way Kickstart templates are written. There is a snippet for redhat registration, though it doesn't end up being translated into anything meaningful in the kickstart file.
Is there a step that I'm missing with configuring this? I've already told cobbler the location of the satellite server and provided the correct details.
Thanks,
Matt

possibly a common problem
by Matthew Delves
I'm having a bit of a play around with cobbler and seem to be stuck with building an iso. It is complaining about
Exception value: 'Required file not found: /var/lib/cobbler/loaders/menu.c32'
This is probably a simple problem to address, though am failing with regard to getting an answer through Google.
Thanks,
Matt

cobbler - chef
by Tom Brown
Hi
We use chef as our config management system as opposed to cfengine or
puppet.
Does anyone else use chef and of so how do you integrate it with
cobbler? We used to use puppet and so the integration was pretty easy
but i am wondering if there are better ways than just extracting the
data from ksmeta?
thanks

SCM control and subversion?
by Jacob Hunt (jacobhunt)
Is "git" the only supported method of SCM control? In
/etc/cobbler/settings for the comments above scm_track_mode it states
"git is the recommend SCM"
They way I read that is that others may work? Am I incorrect with that,
I have set the mode to "svn" and "subversion" and I get an error of
"currently unsupported SCM type"
So I guess my question boils down to is git the only thing that works
right now, and if so is there plans to include other methods?
Thanks,
Jacob
