Cobbler doesn't seem built to work with prebaked disk inages. I think you're barking up the wrong tree. You might want to take a look at Openstack ironic. It is now capable of running standalone without any of the other Openstack goo and is built to deploy prebuilt images to bare metal via API. It doesn't have a guide I'm aware of, but creating one should be simple enough.-Erik
