Pycon 2016 Wiki page
by Tim Apple
Hey Everyone,
I created the basic PyCon 2016 wiki page
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PyCon_2016#Site
I am new to editing the wiki so it's not fancy. I have to learn still.
But hopefully it's a good start. I basically took PyCon 2015 and
modified Links, Changed the dates, inserted links to Hotels and linked
to team members known to be attending.
Please review and let me know what I should add or edit.
Cheers,
Tim Apple

Marketing-trac: #227: Create the release announcement for Fedora 24
by Marketing Team
#227: Create the release announcement for Fedora 24
----------------------------------+------------------------
Reporter: jflory7 | Owner:
Type: task | Status: new
Priority: critical | Milestone: Fedora 24
Component: Release deliverables | Severity: urgent
Keywords: meeting | Blocked By:
Blocking: |
----------------------------------+------------------------
= Phenomenon =
It's about that time of year! Fedora 24 is just around the corner. For
Fedora 23, the idea came up of having a different kind of release
announcement, adding more "human" parts of the magic happening for each
release into the announcement. mattdm expressed interest in this then, but
due to the time crunch, we didn't have as much time to work on it as we
liked.
= Background Analysis =
We need to see how many hands we have available for this task, what kind
of angles we want to approach, and whether we want to do one or two
versions of the announcement (and if two, where the two types end up
going).
= Implementation Recommendation =
This will be a good topic for the meeting to decide how we want to shape
this release announcement. We will discuss it in today's meeting and then
also wait for feedback from others who are unable to attend.

Starting a Fedora Badges Workshop
by Justin W. Flory
Hello all,
In the CommOps meetings for the past couple weeks, we've been throwing
around the idea of having a Badges workshop where CommOps and the Design
team can meet together. This also fits into some of the discussion about
Fedora Hubs as of recently too.
In the workshop, we would try to work through any important badges that
need to be created or defined, talk about strategy for creating badges,
and maybe triage existing badge tickets. It could also specialize in
specific topics for Badges based on other needs too.
I put together a WhenIsGood poll to help find times that work for anyone
that is interested in contributing or attending such a workshop. If
you're interested, please fill out the times that work best for you below!
http://whenisgood.net/fedora/badges-workshop
Thanks!

Hi Scott! I was closing loops on emails today and noticed it seems like
your email was caught up in the spam filter. It seems like you
subscribed to the list with your fedoraproject.org email alias - if you
use your @gmx.com email, you should be able to send and receive mail to
the list.
Sounds like you have a lot of background and experience working with
Linux. There's plenty of ways for you to get involved and contribute in
the Fedora community, and we'd be happy to help you find a place to get
involved in.
There is a great site called whatcanidoforfedora.org that is an
interactive way for you to find a place that you may be able to
contribute to based on your interests.
http://whatcanidoforfedora.org/en
Alternatively, if you prefer text, you can also find this wiki page too
as a good reference.
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Join
Hopefully this is enough info for you to see what all is out there in
the Fedora community. There are plenty of different sub-projects, from
CommOps to Infrastructure to Packaging to Marketing and beyond to get
involved with. If you'd like some more specific pointers, let us know
what your interests are and we'd be happy to help guide you to the right
place.
Sorry again for the late reply. :)

CommOps Hack Session - PyCon 2016 Edition
by Justin W. Flory
Hey CommOpsers,
In today's meeting, we tried to put another hack session on the books
for this week. decause and a few other Fedorans are over on the US West
Coast at PyCon this week. Later this week, there are planned Fedora
sprints at the conference. We're going to try to take an hour, maybe
two, maybe more, to hack on some of our own CommOps-related tasks.
* https://apps.fedoraproject.org/calendar/meeting/3918/
* Friday, 2016-06-03, 21:00 UTC - ???
The above is a link to the hack session in Fedocal. If you think you are
interested in participating, drop a line and let us know to expect you.
We'll probably see who's around in #fedora-commops before officially
kicking things off.
Hope to see some of you around!

Extending meeting time by 30 minutes
by Justin W. Flory
Hey all,
In the last and today's meeting, the idea came up of extending our
meetings by 30 minutes (16:00 - 17:30 UTC). Are there any objections
about extending the time slot or conflicts for adding those 30 minutes
in? I know many people may not be able to make the full time but we
should be able to discuss important topics earlier in the meeting.
Thanks!
