Hi all,
My name is Ryan and I'm new to the mailing list, although some of you may have seen
me loitering around reddit or IRC.
I've never contributed to something like this before, but I want to contribute as I
have a strong passion for linux and open source, and want to one day work at Red Hat - I
thought what better place to start than within the Fedora community.
I am a so-so coder and designer, but thought CommOps might be somewhere where I can add
some value to the project. Life is pretty hectic at the moment with full-time work,
part-time study and baby number one on the way, but I hope to be able to contribute
regularly!
Hey Ryan, welcome to the CommOps community! We're happy to have you
aboard here.
We all start somewhere in open source. :) Is this your first time
contributing to an open source project before? Regardless, the Fedora
community is incredible and it was the reason I made the decision to get
involved as a contributor. There's a lot of people here who are happy to
help get you involved and introduced to the different components of the
project via CommOps.
If you're open on Tuesdays at 17:00 UTC (12pm US EST), you should check
the Fedora CommOps meetings on #fedora-meeting. At our meetings, we have
a chance for new folks to introduce themselves and we power through our
agendas and get some work done.
Looking forward to seeing you around in Fedora and CommOps, Ryan. If you
have any questions, never be afraid to ask -- no such thing as a stupid
question.
If you haven't seen this page already, I highly recommend looking at
this and following the steps to become an official member of CommOps.
