Hi Jess, and welcome! Sounds like there's plenty of interesting things
you can fit into here. We're definitely interested in analytics,
particularly around telling the story of the Fedora community. And the
websites and apps team have plenty to do.
Jess,
Welcome Welcome! As a fellow civic hacker and web scraper
(BeautifulSoup4life), it warms my heart to see someone with similar
skills and interests stopping by.
Right now is a *great* time to arrive, as we are experiencing lots of growth!
You can start with our new CommOps Join page, which has a number of
suggested activities for getting started with our team:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/CommOps/Join
Once you've gone through the steps there, you should read the
information on our Team's wiki page, particularly the section on the
Toolbox:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/CommOps. Of particular interest
to you would likely be our fedora-stats-tools repository, and the
various scripts that bee2502 has been cranking out.
Dunno what timezone you're in yet, but we meet at 17:00UTC on Tuesdays
in #fedora-meeting on Freenode if you'd like to join us. The logs from
our past meetings can be found at:
https://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/sresults/?group_id=commops&type=team
I realize this is *bunch* of info to drop on you all at once, so I'd
recommend just stopping by #fedora-commops on Freenode and introducing
yourself there. We can then help you navigate all the various
resources listed above thereafter.
Welcome Aboard, and we look forward to getting to know you,
--RemyD.
