Hi all,
We just have two more things to solve on the community blog before we can start posting to it regularly.
1. Fix the permalinks 2. Fix SSL
once we are done with those, we can start posting our carefully crafted posts focusing on members of the Fedora Community!
cheers, ryanlerch

As of this moment, the permalinks are fixed thanks to Paul. Judging by IRC, either croberts or puiterwijk will be able to get SSL in sometime in the next couple of hours.
There's also a couple of things that I think would be nice extras to have for when we go live: - Additional categories for more Fedora subprojects - Yoast SEO plugin
I will also ask in IRC if we can look at getting the SEO plugin in.

Yes! Thanks to Paul and Patrick, these are both working now

Feel free to add these, but which ones should we add? I think maybe a "Schedule" category might be good for posts about key items in the schedule.
Note also, that you will need to manually add the categories to the menu in the admin interface to get them to appear in the menu at the top of the page.
This is not a showstopper though, we can always add and edit this stuff on the fly as we post.
- Yoast SEO plugin
Yoast is now installed and activated.
I will also ask in IRC if we can look at getting the SEO plugin in.
IMO, we are ready to go this morning, US time with the posts on FMag, and The community blog itself.

As far as I know, I don't have the permissions needed to add or edit categories. Some ideas that I had for new categories would be: - Fedora Project Community (news that is not from one specific subgroup, e.g. Fedora release) - Marketing - Engineering - Council - etc…
Definitely agreed that this is not a showstopper, categories are things we can add at any time.
- Yoast SEO plugin
Yoast is now installed and activated.
Woohoo, thanks!

I think now we just need to agree on greenlighting - everything seems to be in place for a launch and I think we could publish both posts whenever is most convenient.

+1 -- Ryan, are you pulling the trigger here or do you need someone else to?

I also think it's a good time to launch it. I think we have a good queue of content on the CommBlog ready to go to get it off to a hot start too. +1 from me!
